In this archaeological site you can find a main square that contains administrative and civic and religious buildings. The buildings are distributed as traditional platforms and pyramids on which the main pyramid rises.
The City of Mayapán was built in the likeness of Chichén Itzá. Its main buildings are a copy of the capital of the Itzáes.
When visiting Mayapán, next to the main pyramids, you will see a gazebo, under it are some frescoes, which will give you an idea of how the decoration of this ancient city was at its best, 1 hour from Mayapán.
