Memphis day trip - Tour and boat ride were great. Both narrator's did an excellent job of bringing the history of Memphis to life. Michelle on the bus was near over enthusiastic about the city, her volume was a little too much for the sound system, hard to understand.

Memphis and Sun Studio Tour - We decided on the Memphis tour at the last minute and we are so glad we did! Our driver and tour guide Darrell was great. He was personable and accommodating to all. He knew all the details of the sights on the tour as well as other sights to visit in the city. We loved seeing the ducks at the Peabody hotel, but absolutely loved the Sun Studio Tour.

Great tour - don't miss Sun Records! - We were in Memphis for two days on a cross-country road trip. The first day we did Graceland, and the second, we did this bus/riverboat tour. Overall, it was a great time - our tour guide Darrel did an awesome job and we got to see all the highlights of the city in a very comfortable, air-conditioned shuttlebus, which picked us up and dropped us off right from our hotel (Comfort Inn Downtown on Front St). We chose the add-on tours (Sun Records and the Riverboat tour), and I truly felt that Sun Studios was the highlight. Don't miss it - whether you go on your own or with this tour. Though, you should be aware that if you opt for this add-on, you won't really have time to get lunch on Beale St (which we didn't mind) We had about at 15 min stop at Beale before we had to be back at the bus for the Sun Studio tour. Then, when we got back to Beale (to pick up those who did NOT go to Sun), we had another 15 min. But honestly, it was worth it! (Beale street was a bit of a disappointment, to be honest (not the fault of our tour). It just seemed quiet and empty - though perhaps because it was a Sunday at noon? Coming from Nashville (previous city) - where Broadway is rockin' from 10am -3am every day, it was a sharp contrast). So for us, we didn't mind cutting our time short there - though we had just enough time to check out A. Schwab's store, the only original shop still standing and it is REALLY cool inside - don't miss it! We also did the add-on riverboat tour (from 2:30-4). Although we were quite weary by that time, we are glad we did it. First, you get to sit inside (if you wish) where it is air-conditioned. And second, there is nothing like experiencing the Mississippi River up close and personal while hearing interesting stories and anecdotes from the guide. Highly recommended.
