Shrine of Remembrance - Very complete gathering of objects and information on Australia's war time involvements. We spent a couple of hours there and could have stayed longer. Good views from the top story although the stairs to get there are somehow difficult to find. It appears you can small group tours to take you around, and whilst we didnt take that option we found them quite loud and disruptive in the silence of the museum.

Informative moving tour - Highly recommend this tour. It was interesting, moving & very informative. Having said that a reasonable amount of fitness is required to manage the stairs to climb to the top of the shrine. Well worth it though as the view is amazing from each side of the shrine.

Beautiful building with wonderful views and moving tributes - I booked 2 tickets online for a group tour but surprisingly enough, my husband and I discovered we were the only participants on the tour so we were treated to a private tour. Our tour guide was named Dominic and he was very informative about the military history of Australia. Since this was the first day of our first trip to Australia, Dominic also gave us a lot of information about the city of Melbourne in general. It was interesting to learn about the history of the shrine and the significance of Anzac Day for all Australians. I think this shrine is very meaningful and a wonderful tribute to those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for their country. We also saw fabulous views of the city from the top level. I highly recommend a visit to this Shrine for anyone visiting Melbourne.
