Amazing Tours of Pablo, Coffee, Guatape and Communa 13 - I highly recommend if you are visiting the beautiful city of Medellin you do it with Mauricio and his team of excellent tour guides. Mauricio is a great guide who will truly help you understand the beauty and history of this amazing city and the country’s rich heritage. We used them for multiple tours over the week we stayed there. Highly recommend every tour we did: Pablo, Guatape, Communa 13, Coffee Plantation as well as a trip to meet Roberto the brother of Pablo Escobar. Mauricio and his guides speak excellent English and provide you with insight that only a true local who has lived thru it c an provide you. Thanks Mauricio for making this trip and unforgettable experience for my friends and I. We had an absolutely amazing time and will definitely hope to visit the city again soon.

Saint Pablo tourist trap - After 2 weeks of great experiences in Colombia, wonderful walks and tours, it had to happen once: a tourist trap. We booked this tour because we were, despite the many negative comments locally and on blogs/in guides on these kind of tours, curious to learn more about one of the cruelest men of the last decades and the impact he had on society. The site looked professionally, the tour would give us the realistic view on this harsh episode in Colombian history. Communication before the activity was great. But then the madness started. We agreed on an English private tour, a friendly lady picked us up...I noticed already that her written communication was not real English at all...asked via message if she spoke English ‘yes I do, no worry’ . We stepped in and her ‘English’ was: she spoke in Spanish to her phone and we received the message through a phone translater app...🙄. We immediately said this could not be true and we wanted a proper English speaking guide (doesn’t have to be perfect but this was the most over the top we ever encountered). The lady was clearly trying to help and we saw this was not her fault at all. She dropped us off and handed us over to a friendly English speaking ‘colleague’. Off we were again. First interesting story of the tour: this is a street where all the guys are washing cars for you 😒...we felt immediately this was not a guide at all but a ‘last minute help’ for Medellín transporter. Then we got the Saint Pablo stories...won’t go into detail but we had clearly a non-professional, Pablo loving person in the car...( he also claimed to be a close relative of Escobar). This was not a tour at all, but just someone driving us around and show us the ‘holy grounds’... We aborded the tour after 30min, explaining this is not the experience they promised it to be and the guy understood...we went to the museum ‘casa de la memoria’...much better! Medellín transporter, don’t do this again. Better to say you have no availability then to set up people with this...it is a real pity for your company and for Medellín!
