Fantastic and memorable private trip to coffee region - What a memorable fantastic day! We can’t recommend this private day trip to Jardín enough. Daniel was thoroughly entertaining, a passionate story teller, he kept us thoroughly entertained and engaged for almost 10-hours. We travelled way up into the Andes to a charming coffee plantation where we learned all about coffee but also bees! We picked coffee beans, learned the process followed by a delicious home made lunch with a spectacular view. Then we visited the lovely town of Jardin. Definitely our favourite day trip from Medellín. Gracias Daniel!

Great tour and exceptional guide - We had a fantastic day- the coffee experience is enjoyable and unforgettable (also, if you get the chance to eat there then their food is amazing). Jardín is just as pretty as we had been led to believe. For us, the highlight of the day was our tour guide, Daniel, who was likeable, interesting, knowledgeable and fun. The time when we were travelling between locations passed quickly due to how exceptional he was at his job.

Best trip in Medellin! - This was the best experience we had while visiting Medellin. It was pricey so we had our misgivings initially but my sister and I really wanted to visit Jardin so we went for it. The best day trip we had during our visit to Medellin. Fabio was our tour guide. He was punctual, friendly, and knowledgable. We drove about 2.5 hours to a working coffee farm where we were given a taste of their delicious coffee and where the owner explained the entire process as well as how growing organic coffee helps the local ecosystems and makes for a healthier and better tasting cup of coffee. We found the coffee tour very informative and fun-we were able to pick some coffee and first-hand go through the process. The farm had beautiful flowers, birds, etc. they also protect over 20 species of bees-I had no idea there were so many different kinds of honey bees. We had a good lunch there then headed to Jardin Square, a beautiful small town not far away. The pictures don't do it justice! Loved our experience it was well worth the money.

A tour through rural Colombia. - The Coffee Tour was OK. Arley the owner of ranch doesn't speak very good English and I was surprised when he told me to spend twenty minutes picking coffee beans for him. Isn't that his job? I don't drink coffee so the many steps to make coffee wasn't interesting to me. But the city is Jardín was very interesting. There wasn't much noisy traffic like in Santa Fe so it did feel like going back in time. The church was incredible and it was hard to believe it was in that tiny town. What was most interesting to me were the many small towns Fabio (my tour guide) passed through. It was early evening and every little town was already alive with music and dancing. No wonder people want to live here!

(Coffee) Cup Winning Trip! - This trip was a joy from beginning to end. The coffee farm owners are friendly, welcoming, and well organised. The process tour is, informative and interactive, and the lunch was very good (even catering well for vegans). It's a long drive (which is obviously more of a challenge for the person driving), but the scenery is beautiful and lush. Even on a rainy day. We had some great wildlife sightings too. The town of Jardin is attractive, and had we had longer in Colombia, is a place we would have liked to have spent more time. The highlight of the long day trip was our guide, Fabio. His English was amazing. His knowledge about an array of subjects was also really impressive. More importantly, he was entertaining, starting some really thought-provoking conversations. I usually fall asleep during long drives, but not on this tour. We loved it!

A must for the coffee enthusiast! - The day started with a scenic drive from Medellin to Jardin. As the personal driver and guide for the day, David did a fantastic job explaining the sites and history along the way. He was very kind to lend me his phone to take pictures and video since my phone had recently died the day prior. If there was any stop I was interested along the way, David was more than accomodating. Upon arrival at the coffee farm, Finca La Florida, I met Arley, the owner, at the entrance of the visitor room. You're welcomed with a cup of freshly brewed coffee using a chemex. He explains that Finca La Florida is a coffee farm that focuses on organic coffee that it involves a number of manual steps that reflect the care and attention to detail. Later, a fresh Colombian lunch is prepared that has a truly authentic homemade taste -- it's a real treat! Afterwards, Arley gives you a basket to collect as many 'grape-colored' coffee beans as possible in 25 minutes. After doing this, he walks you through he step from removing/separating the skin, drying out the beans, removing the husk, screening, and finally, roasting. Along with the coffee that's produced on the farm, fresh honey is available as well. After the coffee farm experience, we explored the charming and beautiful town of Jardin before returning to Medellin. The experience was definitely worth it and I recommend it to any coffee enthusiast.

Lovely trip to coffee country, long drive. - My sister and I wanted to see coffee country while in Medellin and this seemed like a perfect opportunity. We really enjoyed coffee and wandering around the cute, picturesque town of Jardin and loved our hands-on experience at the coffee farm, including picking coffee beans and learning the different steps the beans go through before being roasted for coffee. We had a delicious lunch with amazing views and purchased coffee for souvenirs. Juan was a personable guide and we had great conversation with him along the way. Although we knew the tour was 12 hours, what we did not fully anticipate was the amount of time in the car. The drive to Jardin was about 3 hours- there is lots of winding on 2 lane mountain roads so be prepared for that (would not recommend if you're easily carsick!). However, the drive home (on a Sunday when many people are returning to Medellin after a weekend in the countryside) was FIVE hours. We were often at a standstill in bumper to bumper traffic (one lane going in each direction). I would not recommend going on a Sunday at the very least, we spent 8 hours in the car and 5 hours at our destination, for a 13 hour day.
