Highlights
  • MedellinDayTrips - From your hotel we head to the coffee farm in our comfortable private car.

Once there, a charming married couple of farmers welcomes us with a delicious cup of coffee.

While you are enjoying a nice cup of coffee, the expert gives you an informative introduction into the world of Colombian coffee. Feel free to ask any questions.

As you listen and participate of the conversation, we begin to give you the coffee we produce in different brewing methods and then we explain the different flavor notes in each of them, so you learn to differenciate the sour, bitter and sweet characteristics of the coffee.

After this very entertaining introduction, we continue with the next activity: planting the coffee seeds in the seedbed as we explain the timeline for each stage when they are growing into a tree.

After we have more context we begin the walk around the coffee plantation.

Before we do it we provide you buckets, hats and rain boots to do the activity with a proper outfit.

The best day trip in Medellin with Andres - Andres was the best tour guide. His knowledge of coffee and Medellin was the best. He answered all of our questions and gave an amazing recommendation for a great place to get lunch with our kids. He’s the best! I’d gladly do another tour with him and recommend this to anyone looking for a great time in Medellin.

Very pleased with our visit - Took the half-day coffee farm tour with Alejandro and we were so happy that we did it!! The farm was operated by a family and from the get go we already could feel the warmth from our welcomes by the family, and the animals on the farm. Alejandro did a great job explaining the intricacies of coffee beans and the process from trees to a cup of joe. We tasted different methods of brewing from pour over, Siphon to chemex and was served some local snacks made with plantain and cheese. Then we walked around the farm picking beans, and learning about different processes to turn the fruits to the beans we know. Overall, a very pleasant experience and I 100% recommend!!

A well-organized, informative, and fun experience! - This private tour was a definite highlight of a week-long trip to Colombia for our party of 4. Communication prior to the trip was timely and informative with regard to cost, method of payment, and details of the half-day itinerary. Daniel our guide was gracious, entertaining, and a wealth of knowledge about the coffee making process. Picking the beans was quite an experience, and one that we were glad to participate in. It made us appreciate the many steps that go into producing the final product. If we had stayed longer in Medellin, another trip with Daniel would have been a real treat -- thank you!

You won't be disappointed - I guarantee it! - Corazon de Leon came highly recommended. We had traveled to Medellin for a wedding and were eager to explore outside the city. Alejandro was a terrific tour guide for our group. He picked us up at our hotel and regaled us with fascinating local history on our ride to the plantation. The coffee tour was interesting, informal and fun. It was hands on and we learned so much about the coffee bean process from start to finish. We picked the beans, sorted the beans, roasted the beans etc etc. Coffee, lemonade and homemade snacks were served by the staff. Alejandro was a wealth of information. If all the guides are as knowledgeable as Alejandro then you are in luck. Better yet, request Alejandro and you won't be disappointed. - Kristen J.
