Medieval Malta - I’ve been coming to Malta from England for over 15 years now, every single year without fail. I’ve made a lot of friends here, done many excursions, tried every boat trip and guided walk you can think of. Don’t get me wrong, I still love it , new restaurants keep popping up, and I always enjoy them , but in terms of activities, I honestly felt like I’d reached the end of the road. One thing I always felt a bit guilty about was not really digging into Malta’s incredible history. Then some friends from back home recommended Giacomo’s tour, and I decided to give it a go. Best decision I’ve made in years regarding guided tours etc Walking through Mdina and Valletta with him was like seeing Malta for the first time again. The passion, the detail, the stories , he makes you feel like you’re living the 1500s or 1700s, not just hearing about it. For someone who thought he’d “done it all,” I was blown away. I’ve done two of his tours now, and I’m genuinely excited for the next one if he creates a new route. Malta has always been special to me, but Giacomo managed to give me something I didn’t think was possible anymore: a completely fresh perspective. Can’t recommend highly enough.

Everyone must do this interactive and fun tour our guide made Mdina come alive! - What a fantastic experience with Giacomo from Malta Themed Tours! His engaging approach to Malta's layered history was both educational and entertaining, with plenty of fun facts and laughs along the way. He managed to combine the perfect mix of history , medieval life , and entertainment all in one whilst creating a lot of suspense. We were a small group that evening and that allowed for great interactions, and chance to ask questions which he kindly answered very well showing his deep knowledge and love of Malta's history , Giacomo's insights, were invaluable. Passionate, knowledgeable, thank you so much for an unforgettable super evening in the silent city, which wasn't busy and so it made it even more magical. It will remain a memorable event for all of our group of friends that joined. If you're visiting Malta or a even a local DO THIS TOUR! ITS A MUST!

Malta at its most magical — the greatest tour experience you could hope for - Our themed exploration of Mdina with Giacomo was like no tour we could ever have expected. It would be more accurate to call it a historical adventure, and easily one of the absolute highlights of our trip to Malta! From the very first message to my ‘dear noble’ mother (😉), Giacomo’s communication was stellar. He stayed entertainingly and thoughtfully in character as Michele — a real historical corsair — setting the tone long before we even set foot in Mdina. Before the tour, he took the time and effort to get to know us and our personal interests. He included my own fixation on WWII and the Knights Templar into the narrative, as well as impressively weaving in my father’s fascination with Viking history on the spot, linking it to the Normans in Malta. That kind of personalised detail is rare, and it is very much appreciated. It made the whole experience feel like it had been designed just for us. This wasn’t your standard ‘point-and-recite’ tour. Nor was it a romanticised fairytale littered with cheesy tropes and misinformation. Giacomo crafted a thoughtful, lively narrative that guided us through the five darkest and most turbulent years in Malta’s history, winding through Mdina’s ancient alleys and perilous pathways. Dressed as Michele, he brought the past to life. We weren’t merely passive listeners either: we got to play the part too! Reading from prepared cue cards, acting out moments of history and being given the same hypothetical moments of decision a medieval subject would’ve had to grapple with enhanced the experience brilliantly. As fans of the show, we also were able to learn about iconic Game of Thrones filming spots while also hearing the real historical truths that TV often fails to mention. Before the tour, Giacomo shared recommended documentaries, reading material and other resources to give us some optional extra context (which we devoured!) — and afterwards, he sent an incredibly heartwarming and considerate follow-up message with more historical material and fictional recommendations to explore. He even surprised us with presents which was such an attentive touch: postcards, keychains, bookmarks and a signed book for my dad’s birthday. Charmingly enthusiastic, impressively knowledgeable and a gifted storyteller, Giacomo turned a family stroll through Mdina into an unforgettable time-traveling experience. He took such good care of us and is a man you can tell loves history and delivering it to those around him. If you want a tour that’s rich in history, full of personality and truly tailored to you, look no further. This is Malta at its most magical.

a great adventure - After my lovely experience last year, and in Malta again, I just had to treat myself to another Malta Themed Tour, this time in Mdina and of course again I was lucky to be with Giacomo. From the start it was (as expected) a great adventure, Mdina was so peaceful and quiet at night , less hot too! The tour was a super fun tour, with lots of funny moments and interesting history. I would have never imagined so much happened in such a small city. We were a small group and thanks to Giacomo’s good vibe that was infectious throughout I even ended making friends with some of the other guests along the way and having drink afterwards at the tea garden in Mdina. Couldn’t ask for a better time and night out. TOP TOUR. Great Value for Money. I’ll be back…again! Thank you
