Day trip to the south of the island - Booked the trip via our Holiday rep. We were told to be in the hotel reception for 830am for collection. We arrived a few minutes early and spot on 830 our driver /guide arrived (VIKASH). The vehicle was immaculate and he was a very pleasant guide. We set off and he started to inform us about allsorts of unusual facts about the history of Mauritius. As we continued his local knowledge appeared almost endless. He knew endless information about local plants and wildlife as well as places of interest as we drove along. As we arrived at various preplanned stops he told us what to look for and what beware of. At the stops there was never any rush to move on. After lunch we arrived at the Chamerel rum distillery. Unfortunately during January and June the machinery isn't working, but Vitesh showed us the whole process explaining what each piece of machinery does to the sugar cane. After the tour there was a tasting if various runs. Beware of the 72% rum it has quite a kick!! After the distillery we headed back to the hotel. I,'m a bit sketchy on that part of the trip. I think I may have had a rum induced nap!!
We arrived back at the hotel around 4pm. A well spent and informative day and good value for money in my mind. Overall an excellent day out made moreso by VIKASH. Well done.

Not to be missed - Pleasure to visit this place, well kept and lots to admire , great to see that there is continuous improvement to the area , more attractions/shops are built.

Exploring the South with Jared our guide - Wow. Jared our driving was a fountain of knowledge. It made our trip so much more personal.. we had an air conditioned car, so travelled around in comfort. The views were beautiful and the history of this beautiful friendly was so interesting. Jared explained how so many different nationalities had come to settle here and leave their mark. The views from our lunch stop restaurant were stunning, so many different colours as a storm came and went. Rum tasting was fascinating and the gardens there were so beautiful. I could have happily just wandered around there for ages.

Simply the best - We had a fantastic experience from beginning to end which started with Marie Michele in Victoria Beachcomber when she recceomended 3 tours for us and was always there to help us with anything that we needed she was great. We did a love boat speed trip which was exceptional with a great BBQ for lunch and lots of things to see. but the best for us was with our driver Sebastion (Seb) he became our friend for the day when we went around the island on the Wild South he was very helpful, knowledgeable and could not do enough for us he was absolutely the right guy for us. The last tour was with Ravin who again like Seb was really first class all in all we cannot say enough about these people they are so friendly and helpfull.

Fantastic guided tour - Our guide SEBASTIAN ROSE was amazing! Extremely knowledgeable and friendly! He has a wide range of knowledge telling us all the history and modern day culture of the island. We had some good laughs on our all day tour! Would highly recommend a tour with Sebastian!

Akshay’s amazing your was truly unforgettable! - A huge thank you to Akshay our wonderful guide for an unforgettable day’s tour of the wild South of this beautiful island. We loved every minute of the day and learnt so much from Akshay about the history of Mauritius as well as what it is like today. The minibus was huge, just for our family of 5-brand new & so cool and comfortable and we were ferried around so many amazing places from the huge Hindu statues and temples to the stunning waterfall and gorge where we were mesmerised by the view of the gorge & the macaque monkeys. The 7 coloured earth Geopark was fascinating and learning about rum at the Chamarel distillery and then tastinb it was fab-Akshay made the whole experience SO special explaining everything in perfect English and never rushing or hurrying us on-so patient and so very smart and professional! Lunch was delicious-Mauritian specials served on banana leaves. A truly fantastic tour with an amazing guide-thank you Akshay!

Visit made with Javed Excellent Guide - We have been taken care of by Javed, an excellent Guide who answers all your questions. An exceptional person, perfect photographer. We recommend doing this excursion (waterfall chamarel, rum tour, Induist temple, volcano)

Details make the experience - The driver (SATYAM) who drove us over the island for a day was able to report many details about his country and was always helpful with all questions (even on out of program moderate points) and concerns. He also made some very interesting stops which were not mentioned by the tour guide. Like in a small workshop for model messengers where you could watch the workers working. In addition, Satyam was very chatty and let you learn many things that were not in any guidebooks. Positively, Satyam is very experienced after more than 8 years in the profession and speaks several languages. Among them: German, English, French, Hindi and Greole. All in all a great experience for the family.
