Harvester in Newport Gwent - I had a free day and decided to book a solo meal at the Harvester Borderer restaurant in Newport Gwent. I have their app, which offered me 40%off my main course. The waitress Clare was very attentive and welcoming, ushered me to my table soon after I arrived and provided the menus and drinks order. I had a rump steak (well done) with baked potato, mushroom, onion rings and a side of half a rack of glazed spare ribs. The included salad buffet had a wonderful selection of fresh salad items. Soon after I had finished my salad, my main course was ready and was cooked to perfection. I went up and complimented the chef. I finished with the special mini dessert and latte coffee choosing the sundae as my mini dessert. I was delighted with my experience and feel cheered up during another wet drab February day.

Romantic Escape – A Perfect Full-Day Tour in Mauritius - My partner and I had the most amazing day exploring the tropical south-west of Mauritius on this full-day all-inclusive tour. From the moment we set off, everything felt effortless and relaxing. The scenery was absolutely breathtaking – lush green mountains, dramatic coastlines, hidden waterfalls, and pristine beaches that felt like our own private paradise. We spent the day visiting stunning viewpoints, walking through nature trails, and even enjoying some quiet moments by the water. The guides were warm, friendly, and full of interesting stories about the island, which made the experience feel personal and special. The all-inclusive meals and drinks were a nice touch – we loved trying the local food and sipping fresh juice while taking in the views. Being there as a couple made it even more magical. We laughed, took photos together, and simply enjoyed each other’s company surrounded by Mauritius’s natural beauty. The pace of the tour was perfect – enough adventure, but also plenty of time to just relax and soak in the moment. By the end of the day, we felt refreshed, happy, and full of unforgettable memories. I would highly recommend this tour to any couple looking for a mix of romance, adventure, and the stunning sights of Mauritius. It truly felt like a day made just for us.

Our day out in Mauritius - A full day with lots of experiences. Our driver was very knowledgeable about the area. The included lunch was delicious with choices. The coloured earth looked more colourful on the picture on the internet than in real life but this did not detract from the overall tour. The visit to the tea and rum tours were very good. Plenty of tea to try with no hard sell. Don’t get too drunk tasting the many varieties of rum!!!

Great journey around the South-west of Mauritius - We had a great trip around the south-west of Mauritius with our driver Radhika. We managed to fit in a full day of activities without ever feeling too rushed. Radhika made us feel safe and reassured that we were in for an exciting day. Radhika was knowledgeable about the area and knew all the best spots to see such as the Valle Adventure Park (an adrenaline filled day of fun), St Aubin Rum Distillery (which featured an amazing rum tasting) and the Black River Gorges National Park (which featured one of the most stunning views we had ever seen in our lives). Radhika also took the time to tell us quite a bit about Mauritian customs and culture which helped give depth to this beautiful place. Overall, this was a great tour and a must do for anyone travelling to Mauritius and it wouldn’t have been possible without the expertise and kindness of our driver and tour guide Radhika.

Great Trip, fabulous guide - Kevin was a great guide, met us at our hotel in his immaculately presented car for our whistle stop tour of the South of the island, Kevin was articulate, knowledgeable and very willing to share his obvious depth of knowledge of the beautiful Mauritius. Would highly recommended the tour but make sure you understand the walking involved at the 23 sands and the array of adventuring options that are available at the location and dress and prepare accordingly before booking. Thanks Kevin for a great snapshot of your beautiful country.

Highly recommended - The problem is that there is too little time to enjoy the individual sightseeing points. We were under constant pressure. The driver explained the problem to us as follows: The tour is intended for tourists who are in the south. The approach time to pick up is short and accordingly there is more time for the locations. We are in the east and it takes him about 1.5 hours to pick us up. It was almost 2 hours from the last sight back. The total time is limited to 8.5 hours. The driver has to pass all points and accordingly there is little time then. For example, we only had 20 minutes for the tea plantation. The company needs to organize this better. She advertises that you are picked up everywhere in Mauritius, but then she also has to schedule enough time for the individual sights. Only recommended for tourists who do not have a rental car and want to get a quick overview of some sights in the south in one day.

Mixed Review.. sites wonderful, 'guide' not so much... - Starting with the positives, Mauritius is beautiful and the sights seen were wonderful. I think we were unlucky with our 'guide'. Lets be clear, our guide was a driver, not a guide - we were simply taken to places with some pleasant chat - zero information shared. the driver brought a friend along for a few hours who did some of the driving (while our driver was on a motorbike) and did not appear to know where she was supposed to be going, twice we had to turn around. We were taken to the tea museum too early in the morning so we could not have the factory tour (so the driver got to keep that portion of the entry ticket cost). we got no water (that should have been included). lunch was not until 3pm due to the order of travel (which is very late considering tour started at 8.30am) and we didn't get to see Gris Gris beach as we would not have had time for the Rum tasting, as it was we had literally 10 mins at the Rum place and it was a poor experience. We did not take longer than planned at any of the places and there was no heavy traffic other than a few mins delay at the temple so unclear how we were supposed to get all the sights in the allocated time. Given we didnt get the tea factory tour, Rum was 10 mins (ie no tour) and we didnt see the famous beach, there is no way there was sufficient time for the items on the itinerary. The individual items (apart from Rum) were good but overall, not worth the money and the driver getting paid for things that didnt happen (tea factory tour, water) means i cannot recommend this trip.
