Into the Heart of the Okavango Delta

As the plane descended into Maun, the gateway to Botswana’s wilderness, I felt a familiar thrill. The Okavango Delta, a UNESCO World Heritage site, was our first stop on this 11-day safari adventure. We were greeted by our guide, TK, whose reputation for spotting elusive wildlife preceded him. Our journey began with a mokoro ride, a traditional canoe, expertly navigated by local polers. Gliding silently through the delta’s waterways, I was reminded of the delicate balance of this ecosystem, where every ripple and rustle tells a story.
