Only a minimal amount of luggage is needed for the 2-night stay in the delta; your larger bag will be securely stored and can be retrieved upon your return. Okavango Delta
Okavango Delta - Begin your day by ensuring your small bag is packed and ready before pick-up. Only a minimal amount of luggage is needed for the 2-night stay in the delta; your larger bag will be securely stored and can be retrieved upon your return. We will head to the Okavango Delta, where you will meet your local mokoro poler, who will also be your guide. This activity is led by local mokoro community guides, with our chef accompanying us. Upon arrival, the camp assistant will set up camp under a canopy of trees. Enjoy brunch, followed by a walk on the island.
Traveling by mokoro is undoubtedly the best way to experience the Okavango Delta. You will explore the waterways and take nature walks, offering the chance to track wildlife and immerse yourself in this unique environment. The birdlife here is extraordinary, with sightings of hippos and elephants.
Okavango Delta
Okavango Delta - Start your day with tea or coffee and rusks, then set off for a morning walk. The area is stunning, with tall trees lining the river, providing shade for the animals.
After a delightful walk, return for a shower and take advantage of siesta time to launder clothes or read a book. Some may choose to update their diaries. At 3:30 pm, enjoy tea or coffee before departing for a 1.5-hour mokoro excursion. Return before sunset and have dinner at 8:00 pm. Bedtime is flexible, depending on the last guest.
Tour Ends: Drop off Maun
Maun - After breakfast, we will return to the mokoro station, where our vehicle will be waiting. First, we will stop at the office to collect your luggage left before heading to the delta. We will then transfer you to your lodge for accommodation.
