Highlights
  • Haleakalā National Park - Meet in central Maui for the 2.5-hour drive down the famous Hana Highway, a scenic stretch of coastal road along the island’s east shore that crosses more than 50 bridges. During your trip, you’ll loop around eastern Maui to the trailhead, where you begin your full-day hike through Maui’s ultimate waterfall wonderland, an area that is still described as “old Hawaii.”

On a 4.5-mile excursion deep into Maui’s national park, you’ll adventure past a network of waterways and cascading waterfalls referred to as the “Seven Sacred Pools” due to its otherworldly beauty. Climb trails that cut through acres of towering bamboo and rich vegetation, and discover multiple waterfalls tucked deep into the forest, some measuring more than 400 feet (122 meters).

Halfway through the day, stop for a deli-style sandwich lunch. Other snacks such as fresh island fruit, chips, cookies and water provided along the way will keep your energy up. After returning to the trailhead, you’ll circle one last time in a van around eastern Maui before ending your day-long journey into Hawaii’s untamed wilderness back in central Maui.

An amazing way to enjoy the Road to Hana and the Pipiwai Trail - Booking an excursion with Hike Maui was a great way to enjoy the Road to Hana and the Pipiwai Trail. We were able to relax during the drive and enjoy the views and some unique stops without the stress of navigating the winding roads ourselves. Our guide, George, was very knowledgeable and happy to answer any questions we had. The bamboo forest was beautiful, and swimming near the Wailua Falls was an amazing experience we'll never forget!

A great way to spend the day! - We had such a great time with Michael our guide. We made the most out of our time because Michael was able to tell us our options and we chose the ones that best fit our interests. We would definitely recommend this tour!

Awesome full day adventure - This trip was fantastic! George was a top-notch guide - friendly, casual, informative, planned great stops based on our feedback, and took great pictures. The bus was comfortable and there were plenty of snacks/water - we were never hungry. Cliff jumping, bamboo forest hike, eating native fruit, goat sightings - it was all so much fun! Great job Hike Maui!

Amazing tour on the Road to Hana - Hike Maui, wow!!!!!My wife and I did the all day trip to Hana, it was amazing. We had a great group of people to be with. Our guide, George was incredible. Lots of great details about Hawaii, trees and plant life and the road to Hana. George took us to several beautiful spots and a fast 2 mile hike up the Pipiwai Trail to see the beautiful waterfall. Tons of snacks, great lunch sitting by a waterfall before jumping in the pond. Mahalo George from Pete and Karen.

Another Amazing Day with Hike Maui - We booked this tour as we were driving home from the Twin Falls waterfall hike (that's how good it was). Purely by chance, our guide turned out to be Gail, the same guide as the previous trip. Through her knowledge, expertise and excellent planning, we had a mind-blowing tour of East Maui and Hana! The tour included a 400 ft waterfall, a gorgeous hike to another waterfall that we swam in, and the famous Black Sand Beach. However, even more amazing were the views as we circled the base of Haleakala, often with no other cars for miles (thank to Gail's shrewd decision to take the "reverse" direction of the majority of Road to Hana tourists). This trip really included the right balance of breathtaking views through the van window and getting out for more breathtaking views while hiking. Gail's insightful and informative commentary made the day complete. One final note - guides at Hike Maui apparently undergo rigorous training and education in topics including Hawaiian culture, botany, geology, and of course driving! It really shows in their tours, which we would highly recommend to everyone. Hike Maui No Ka 'Oi!

Hana full day - Our guide was Tony and he was fantastic! From ginger candy to settle stomachs on the drive, to a well paced hike, frequent offers to take our picture and good food and frequent snacks, we LOVED this trip. The trip was a long day, but included pick and up drop off from our hotel. We will definitely hike with Hike Maui again!

Picked up From Cruise Ship by Kevin - A fantastic tour! I would recommend booking direct as we saw things cruise ship passengers don't get to see. Kevin was so friendly from the outset and laughed at all my rubbish jokes! The tour to Hana was great, it included big spray, drinks and lunch that we pre ordered for no extra charge! I recommend everyone that can walk up and down some slopes to do this tour!
