This comprises a brief 10-15 minute on-land instruction about fundamental surfing and marine safety tips. The remaining time is spent in the water under the guidance of your surfing coach. We’re committed to delivering each student a distinctively enjoyable, safe, and memorable surfing tutorial. Our teaching methodology adapts to each student’s competency. We’ll indeed go beyond to ensure that your surfing journey becomes the most cherished part of your holiday!

Perfect for starters - The teachers are very friendly and helpfully. At the beginning we were a little bit afraid of our first surf lesson. But after few minutes in the water the doubts are blowen away. It was an life changing experince. You have to trust the process and relax. Don‘t force anything ;) - mahalo! Cherry surf lessons! - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Fantastic Surf Lesson in Kihei with Maui Wave Riders!
I had an amazing experience taking a surf lesson with Kea of Maui Wave Riders in Kihei! From the moment I arrived, the team was friendly, welcoming, and incredibly patient. Kea explained everything clearly, made safety a priority, and gave easy tips that helped me feel confident right away.
Once we got in the water, his encouragement and hands-on guidance made a huge difference—I was able to stand up and catch waves sooner than I expected! The location was perfect for beginners, and the whole vibe was fun, relaxed, and supportive.
Whether you’re new to surfing or just looking to improve, Maui Wave Riders is an excellent choice. I left with great memories, new skills, and a huge smile. Highly recommend!

Highly recommend! - Everything you need to start from no experience. The instructors are skilled and guide you. You can return later in the day and get equipment when the tradewinds pick up to try again after a rest

Good Times! - My son and daughter went out and had a blast. The staff and instructor were great. The price point was also very good. Highly recommend Maui Wave Riders if you want to surf.

Memorable Surf Day in Kihei - Our daughters (13 & 15) had their first surf lesson with Kai at Maui Wave Riders in Kihei, and it was fantastic! The location was perfect with gentle morning waves, and by the end they earned certificates, hats, and great photos. Highly recommend Kai and the team.

Fun surfing lessons in Maui - We had a wonderful surf lesson with our very friendly instructor. It was the first time my kids (ages 9 and 12) surfed - they both enjoyed it and were able to catch several waves. The location in Kihei was ideal and the morning session had good waves. At the end, we got certificates, hats and many memorable photos. Highly recommend Maui Waveriders for surfing lessons in Maui!

Great fun to experience how to surf! - My nephews who are in their 20s and 30s and my granddaughter who is 13 all went on this adventure. They had a blast! We were able to watch from the beach area and swim too. Even though they looked like they were far out, it wasn't that deep so you didn't have to wear a life jacket when learning. Highly recommend this activity!

So good we booked again - Two teenagegirls aged 14 and 17 went out with Kepa and had so much fun we booked another lesson a few days later. Having never surfed before we were quite amazed to see both girls get up on the board in the first attempt - with broad smiles on their faces. Super friendly and caring staff, and all instructors were super engaged.
The girls had a lot of photos taking by a photographer associated with Maui Waveriders and the pictures were awesome and we bought them as an extra memory.
Nice gear and a good quiet beach for first timers. Go only in the morning to have it less crowded. Kepa rocked!

Awesome surf lesson - Our surf coach Eddie was amazing and gave my daughter and I the basics to get up on the surfboard. We both got up very quickly out in the water and had an amazing day riding the waves. I would highly recommend Maui Waveriders for your surf lesson.
