Setting Sail to Molokini

The morning sun was just beginning to peek over the horizon as I made my way to the harbor for the Molokini Snorkel adventure. The air was crisp, and the anticipation of exploring the underwater world of Molokini Crater was palpable. As a former professional surfer, I’ve spent countless hours in the ocean, but the allure of snorkeling in a marine sanctuary was something I couldn’t resist.

Upon arrival, I was greeted by Captain Erin and his enthusiastic crew, Mike and Erin. Their energy was infectious, and I knew I was in for a memorable experience. As we set sail, the rain that had threatened to dampen our spirits in Kihei was nowhere to be seen. Instead, we were treated to a smooth ride and a continental breakfast of fresh pineapple, orange slices, and a flaky croissant. The crew’s knowledge of the area and marine life added an educational layer to the trip, making it more than just a snorkeling excursion.

Diving into the Blue

Back on deck, we were treated to a delicious BBQ lunch featuring Huli Huli chicken, beef burgers, and even an Impossible burger for the plant-based adventurers. The chicken, in particular, was a standout, with its juicy, flavorful cut that satisfied my post-snorkeling hunger.

As we made our way back to the harbor, the crew served up a refreshing beverage from Maui Brewing Co., perfectly capping off the morning’s adventure. The camaraderie among the guests and crew was evident, and I couldn’t help but feel a deep sense of gratitude for the opportunity to explore such a unique part of the world.
