ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL - We had an absolutely wonderful time although it was cut short due to someone getting sea sick. Not Chris' fault of course.
If you like smaller groups, Chris is the one to go with. Very professional, accommodating, and just fun to hang out with!
Side note, if you are prone to sea sickness, either take your meds or maybe find a different activity - just saying.

Incredible Whale watching experience - Book this tour!! If you are coming to Maui during whale season, you have to do this tour. It was an incredible experience that was unlike any other. Whales came right up to our canoes and swam under us! We loved how private the tour was and Chris was an expert in finding whales and giving us directions. Chris was very knowledgeable about Maui and marine life and was able to answer any question we had. We had previously done a boat tour, but this kayak tour was by far superior. I will definitely be back to do this experience and I recommend everyone should try it.

Great tour providing a more personal experience as a small local outfitter. - Chris is a great guide and very informative. This was our first kayaking experience and we felt safe with Chris as our guide/instructor. We saw plenty of whales and had a great morning on the water. Chris also provided information on the local culture as well as history of the area. He is also very respectful of nature and sea life—a true local guide!

Awesome experience! - Had a great time kayaking with our guide Chris. He was very knowledgeable about Hawaii and whales. And did a great job spotting them and waiting in the right spots. He took that awesome shot of the whale that got so close to us! Highly recommend this experience.

Trip of a lifetime - Trip of a lifetime. We (my husband and I) went out with Chris for the morning along with another couple. The morning started off slowly, but Chris kept saying "be patient and we will see what happens". A few hours past and we saw just a few whales in the distance...Chris agreed to extend the trip so we could stay out longer and that made all the difference...we saw two sets of moms and baby whales...one of which swam right under our kayaks. It was an amazing experience and only happened because Chris was willing to go the extra mile - and he even took pics which he gave us for free!

A "Bucket List" success! - Our guide was excellent. We enjoyed listening to Chris share his knowledge of whales which I believe helped us be in the right place at the right time to get a close encounter! The time passed so quickly but he took some great photos for us to remember the experience. My wife isn't really comfortable on the water, but Chris put us at ease during our tour and she never mentioned it once. Even with a whale close by, that's impressive! Highly recommend Tropical Guides & Outfitters!

The activity I would recommend to all my friends going to Hawaii - The excursion is one of my best memories of my three weeks in Hawai’i. We saw whales up close and heard their songs even from the surface.
Chris was a wonderful guide, able to take us as close as possible to the whales safely and without disturbing them. He knows what he is doing and has plenty of anecdotes to share. He also took beautiful photos which he shared with us.
I recommend it to anyone wishing to see the whales (and the magnificent coast) in peace, without the noise of the engines and the music of the big boats.
