There’s no boat that offers a better whale-watching experience than the tri-level catamaran, Calypso. As the most modern and sophisticated whale watching vessel in Maui, the Calypso presents an opportunity to take part in a thrilling 2-hour whale watching cruise along Maui’s scenic Pali coast with our cheerful captain and crew. You can marvel at the whales from above water or descend to the underwater viewing platform at each stop. If the whales decide to glide beneath our ship, you’ll witness them through the clear panels positioned at the base of the hull. Your driver/guide may inform you about common behaviors exhibited by whales. Throughout the journey, you have access to comfortable seating and a snack and bar area. The cruise is available from December 16, 2021, to April 17, 2023.

Whale Watching - Captain and crew were fabulous. Took our tour right into a pod of whales that circled the boat for about 50 minutes. Multiple times the whales were right next to the boat (amazed they didn't jump into the boat). Observed several breaches; multiple fin flaps, fluke flaps, swimming along side the boat. Also observed other whales with calves a few hundred yards off the boat. Captain provided a narrative about the whales; where they migrated from, distances traveled, channel depths... Totally worth doing during whale migration!

Afternoon Whale Watch Tour very nice! - The whalewatching was great--the captian found a few different groups of whales to watch and positioned us well, which is ideal as far as I'm concerned. This was also a good deal--lots of the cruises charge twice as much with the difference being an open bar--not worth it!

Fun and Informative! - The whale watching tour was well worth it! We had a plethora of whale sightings and the captain kept us entertained with his humor and fascinating facts about whales. I highly recommend this excursion!

Wind and Whales - The winds were 60 mph and there were lots of whales breaching. it was a sunny day and we loved the choppy waves and the adventure of it all. Totally memorable! one of our favorite experiences in Maui!
The Calypso was great and our guide/captain was fun and energetic. Altogether a fabulous afternoon.

Top-notch crew, with great views of shore - The crew was 5-star, with awesome customer service, and the narration educating us about the whales was super cool. And inexpensive, tasty cocktails were a treat!
We had booked this tour because we saw so many whales from shore a couple days before, and figured we'd see them a bit closer on a tour on the water.
The weather wasn't very cooperative the day we went, so not sure how viewing would be when a bit calmer. But besides one playful breaching calf, many of the views of the adult whale activity were pretty distant (should have brought our binoculars).
I was really hoping to see an adult breach a little closer. Unfortunately, perhaps because of the access due to waves, or the whales' behavior, who knows, we didn't see much closer than from shore. I realize the crew can't control these things.
We enjoyed the tour regardless, with views of shore, narration etc. and as far as customer service and professionalism, this tour was top-notch.

Fun and active outing - We saw plenty of whales right after we left the harbor. During our two hours we had constant sighting with some being very close and easy to see. We witnessed several breaches. The crew was great and the boat was in very good shape. Not only did you get whale watching, but a very nice view of the island. Worth it.
