Highlights

2435 Kaanapali Pkwy - Group lessons are for any students 13 years or older who is able to swim and feels comfortable doing so in the ocean. These group lessons are open for anybody to sign up for and you will all share your instructor(s). We keep our student to instructor ratio at a maximum of four students to every one instructor. We provide beginner level surf instruction as well as a ocean safety briefing prior to entering the water. Our small class size and the latest equipment ensure you have a safe and enjoyable experience. Our patient and friendly staff of instructors give you the personal attention you need to stand up on your first time out!

Additional Information

Join our group surf lessons at Sea Maui Surf, and let our expert trainers guide you! Every group session starts with a land class where we cover ocean safety and basic beginner instructions. As these are group lessons, all participants are required to have swimming skills and feel secure to swim in the ocean independently. If you’re not confident about your swimming capability or if you’re younger than 13 years old, we advocate you to enroll for private or semi-private lessons so that the group class experience for others is uninterrupted.

Fun Fun Fun - My son and I have wanted to surf forever. JT was our instructor and he was kind, patient, and full of advice and stories. The waves were smaller on our day but we still succeeded in standing up and experiencing the thrill. Highly recommend!

First time surfing! - Devon was an amazing instructor. I felt at ease knowing he was in the water with my boys who are teenagers. They said that the lessons were the best part of our trip! We will definitely be back! Thank you for everything.

Top tier experience! The best instructors! - Mad respect to JT and Devon for such an enjoyable and instructive experience for my family. Getting setup and organized with the gal at the kiosk was so pleasant and informative. Prior to this I and my 2 kids had never surfed or done any equivalent activity before. With the instructors' guidance we were all up on the longboards and navigating waves in no time. My daughter has always struggled with cognitive learning and coordination in sports, so I had reserved expectations for her. JT was so attentive to her and guided her one on one until she had it down! And wow I was so proud and and excited to see her up and catching wave after wave! And Devon is rad too! This operation is the real deal. They are professional, empathetic, and chill. I heartily recommend them to anyone with an interest in learning how to surf.

Turtle swim with snorkeling - This is our first time snorkeling. The experience is really awesome. There are no uncomfortable parts at all and we feel totally safe. And they provide floating vest which also adds some warm. Once we practice some floating techniques in shallow water, we head towards to the deep side and we can see clearly the fish and two turtles and many coral reef.

Surf with Steve!! (Call him chicken Joe) - We had a great day learning how to surf with our instructor Steve! He was very honest about the uncertainty of the waves, but after deciding we wanted to still give it a shot, he assured us he would keep us safe. Surfing is a hard sport to pick up right away- but he was so good at teaching us the tips and tricks. Although we didn't stand too much- it's an experience I will never forget! Thank you for the memories Steve and SeaMaui Surf! Mana Kai🤙🏽🏄🏼‍♀️

Amazing and Fulfilling - JT our surfing instructor was beyond knowledgeable and very patient with us. Being that my husband and I had never surfed before and were 62 and 65 years old, to say he had a challenge on his hand is an understatement. He was GREAT!
