A Family Adventure on Two Wheels

As a travel writer and a mom of three, I’m always on the lookout for activities that can entertain and educate my kids while allowing us to explore new places. Our recent trip to Maspalomas in Gran Canaria was no exception. We decided to try the e-Scooter or e-Bike Tour and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our vacation.

The tour began with a warm welcome from our guide, Lorenzo, who immediately put us at ease. I hadn’t been on a bike in years, and my kids were a bit nervous too, but Lorenzo’s patient instructions and safety tips made us all feel comfortable. One of the things I loved most about this tour was Lorenzo’s passion for his country and his knack for uncovering hidden gems. After exploring the dunes, we cycled to Playa del Ingles, where the kids enjoyed the lively atmosphere and the stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean.

Lorenzo then led us to a local market, a delightful surprise that wasn’t on our original itinerary. The market was bustling with locals, and it was a joy to see my children interacting with the vendors and learning about the local produce. We picked up some fresh fruits and snacks for the road, and the kids were thrilled to try some new flavors.

Our next stop was a charming tapas place, frequented mostly by locals. The food was a revelation, bursting with fresh flavors that even my picky eaters couldn’t resist. It was a refreshing change from the more touristy spots, and it gave us a real taste of the local culture.

A Step Back in Time

The final leg of our tour took us to Sioux City Park, a replica of an American Wild West town. This was a hit with the kids, who loved the main street shows and the chance to see cowboys and Indians in action. The park also had a small zoo, which was a bonus for my animal-loving youngest.

Lorenzo’s knowledge of the park’s history added an educational twist to the fun, and I appreciated how he made sure the kids were engaged throughout. It was a unique experience that combined history, entertainment, and a bit of adventure.

As we rode back to our starting point, I couldn’t help but feel grateful for the memories we had made.
