Highlights
  • Marrakech - Your journey begins in Marrakech, from where you’ll venture to the grand Atlas Mountains.

  • High Atlas Mountains - Departing from Marrakech, you’ll be taken to the grandeur of the Atlas Mountains. The adventure kicks off with a camel ride at dawn, followed by a drive to the village of Armed, renowned for its captivating waterfall. Amidst this verdant valley, the waterfalls provide a striking contrast to the arid surroundings. I’ll guide you through the exploration of the villages and waterfalls, where you can enjoy a refreshing beverage while admiring the view. Subsequently, we’ll visit a Berber women’s Argan Oil Co-operative to partake in breakfast and discover the process of transforming Argan nuts into a variety of Argan Oil products.

  • Imlil - The journey continues along the Asni valley, adjacent to a ski resort, and ascends a remote mountain road at an elevation of 1800 meters to arrive at the village of Imlil. You’ll traverse through authentic Berber villages constructed from mud bricks and stone, offering a glimpse into the genuine lifestyle and culture of the Berber people. We’ll organize a delectable lunch for you in a traditional Berber home. Later, we’ll proceed to Ait Souka, celebrated for its orchards of apples, walnuts, almonds, and peaches. Be prepared to capture the breathtaking views of North Africa’s tallest peak, Mount Toubkal, which stands at 13,665 feet. Wonderful - Ahmed picked us up from our hotel and mohammed was our guide. We first went to the argan oil co-operative then carried on up to the berbers village where we met our guide for the hike. You could either take the difficult route or the easy one. We opted for the easy as it had been snowing and I'm old. After about 200yds uphill I decided to carry on, on a mule called Ida. It was wonderful. It cost 110mad for the mule and was worth every penny. The waterfall at the top was beautiful. We then had lunch of lentil soup, tagine and fruit for 65mad and was delicious. The guide was amazing and helped me over some of the more awkward rocks. Well worth the £50+ the lunch. Well worth doing. Also a camel ride was included but I declined.
