Thanks to our Mustapha guide - We were accompanied by Mustapha to take a tour of parts of the Medina that without him we would never have discovered. We would like to thank him very much for the magnificent experience and hope to return soon. Thanks again Mustapha!

A fabulous tour! - Youssef was a fabulous tour guide! Very knowledgeable, professional, kind and personable all with a sense of humor! We enjoyed learning about the history of the Medina and souks. We also enjoyed our lunch with him and had a wonderful meal at one of his favorite spots. We highly recommend Youssef especially if your first visit.

The BEST decision we made in Marrakech! - We opted for the Historical Marrakech Walking Tour but also added the Jardin Majorelle into it as well as an additional extra.. The process to plan and book the tour was seamless and very easy.
The day before, Youssef reached out to reconfirm and provided us details of the pickup the following morning. The morning of the tour, we arrived at the pickup and driver Rachid was there promptly, super friendly and welcoming. Our first destination was Jardin Majorelle so we had a few minutes drive to the new city from Jemaa el-Fnaa square.
As we pulled up to Jardin Majorelle, Youssef was stood awaiting our arrival and introduced himself and warmly welcomed us. We'd booked online for 09:30 and were a few minutes early. We walked further into the garden before stopping just beyond the pagoda where Youssef provided us with a few minutes history and information about the garden, its founding stages and the historical journey to the tranquil oasis it has become today. It has to be said, the garden is stunning. With 135+ species of plants from 5 continents across the globe, it's easy to forget you are in Marrakech. There's plenty of the iconic Majorelle blue, not least the main house within the garden which definitely draws the crowds!
Our next short stop was a walk through the Koutoubia gardens where we learnt about the mosque, its history and the faiths present in Marrakech today. Third up on the list was a stop at Bab Agnaou, the gateway into the royal Kasbah. The largest and most ornate entrance it is well worth a moment to admire! From here we visited the Saadian tombs. Once in the Saadian tombs he talked us through the site and the history before making recommendations as to how we should explore, one comment he made was to go and see the Men's tomb as there was barely a queue to get into the doorway to see this and the gold decorated ceiling as this will likely get very busy soon. The tombs are fascinating and well worth a visit.
Our fourth stop of the morning was a short walk through the Jewish district of Mellah to the Bahia palace. The palace itself as the name describes is "Beautiful", with many courtyards ornately decorated with mosaics it is far away from the external red stone exterior used to hide the internal beauty.
Our last stop but by no means least was at Jemaa el-Fnaa square and an exploration of the many Souks. One thing that was fantastic was how Youssef prepared us for the souks. He checked with us what we had in our bags and recommended how to wear them on the front if there was any valuables to keep an eye on them. He also provided us with some key phrases to gently usher the sellers on if they tried to entice where it was not desired as well as giving us some invaluable tips for navigating the souks. Wow oh wow... the sights, the smells, the sounds the souks are a complete assault of the senses. We walked round many corners, under small archways and down some side passages that I don't think we'd ever have visited unguided! We walked through the many different souks, witnessing such incredible crafts in the blacksmiths and leather souks and the incredible smells in the spice market. A cool little stop we weren't expecting was to one of the many communal ovens where locals have their loaves of bread cooked - a great insight into a practise that has stood the test of time and something we absolutely would not have seen if it wasn't for Youssef.
It has to be said, booking this tour with Youssef was THE BEST decision we made for our trip to Marrakech. Youssef went above and beyond providing us other recommendations for during our stay in the city (of which were just as fantastic) but he also gave us the confidence to tackle the smaller winding passages of the souks on our own, following back through some of the areas we covered with him unaided. It did not feel like a morning spent with a tour guide, it felt like we spent the morning being welcomed into a friends home. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend anyone to do a tour with Youssef, it'll guarantee you a trip that most people wouldn't experience.

A lot of fun - You don’t need a guide but a guide can make you feel more assured of moving through the souk if it’s your first time. Look out for the hidden garden, the old university and venture into all the streets and alley ways. Keep your eye out for the never-ending flow of mopeds and other small motorised vehicles that are always moving through these narrow streets. Hours can be spent taking in the atmosphere and haggling with shop keepers. A lot of fun!

Great. - We loved this visit with Hassan. Thank you for your patience.
Hassan is an experienced guide who shares his fine knowledge with passion, be it history, culture, local products... We learned a lot and visited places where we would not have gone alone without knowing

Impressive with our tour - It was out first day in marrakesh and Youssef gave us an amazing tour. He showed us Dar el Bacha and Ben Youssef school and took us through the souks, explaining how to negotiate and what to look for and where to buy the best carpets. He also told us about Morocco’s history. Youssef is super personable and engaging. Really happy with our tour. Book him you won’t regret it.

Bad experience in Marrakech - They talk about a “quiet” city for 24 hours
Actually with my family I loved being encircled at night in an alley of the sok at 9pm and subjected to a real extortion Only my son's cold blood has saved us worse trouble
Take home message : Caution in the evening outside the main squares
Better taxi even for small trips
