Ait Ben Haddou - Following the mineral exploration in the High Atlas, the trip continues to the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987, this stunning location has been the backdrop for films like “Alexander” (2004), “Kingdom of Heaven” (2005), and “The Message” (1976). An overnight stay in this picturesque Kasbah is planned.
Ait Ben Haddou - Ouarzazate - Alnif
Ouarzazate - After spending the night in Ait Ben Haddou, the journey proceeds to Ouarzazate, often referred to as the Hollywood of Africa due to its renowned movie studios, including the expansive Atlas Studios and Kasbah. A visit to Studio Atlas and Kasbah Taourirt is scheduled.
Alnif - The next destination is the Cambrian site, famous for its yellow trilobites. The journey then continues to an Ordovician site, known for its calymenes and flexycalymenes.
Alnif - Sidi Ali Tafraout - Ouzina
Taouz - The trip advances to the Azourz site to collect black Devonian Pyritised Goniatites. Following this, trilobites will be gathered at the Tisket site. The collection of sand roses, composed of gypsum and sand, along with bone vertebrae, is also planned. The day ends with a drive to Merzouga.
Merzouga - Marrakesh
Erfoud - After breakfast in Merzouga, the journey continues to Erfoud to visit factories where trilobites are cleaned and blocks are crafted into tabletops, sinks, and decorative items. The trip then heads back to Marrakesh.
Marrakech - Following the visit to the fossil factories in Erfoud, the drive back to Marrakesh includes passing through various Berber villages and traversing the High Atlas Mountains via Tizi N’tichka, arriving in Marrakesh by evening.
