Enjoyed ourselves... - Enjoyed ourselves immensely. The pottery workshop was wonderful for me as a newbie as well as for my partner who is experienced with electric wheels. We appreciated the helping hands of our instructor. The afternoon walk through the mountains was beautiful and our guide was more than happy to share his knowledge on culture and area. Finishing the day by the pool was wonderful. Thank you for the experience

Great experience with Mo, Youssef and his team. - We signed up for this activity thinking was just going to be pottery making but we were completely unprepared for what we received! First up, Youssef taught us basics of making pottery and helped us make a few basic shapes before trying stuff on our own. Then came home made bread baked by Youssef’s mother along with olive oil made from olives on the property, with lots of tea. Then came an awesome lunch that was customized to our dietary choices. To top it all, Mo baked the pieces we made and delivered them to our hotel a couple days later. The pieces we made are displayed in our dining area at our home , as a reminder of our great time with wonderfully warm people we met that day. I highly recommend this trip to anyone, you will experience the hospitality and generosity of the people from Amizmiz village and also make some pottery hopefully!

Lovely, authentic day out in real Morocco with friendly hosts - This was a very special day, a birthday surprise for my wife who loves doing pottery / ceramics. We were picked up near our Riad in Marrakech by Sayed, who was very friendly. He drove us out to the village, Amizmiz, in the foothills of the Atlas mountains, via a women's cooperative that makes Argan oil (v friendly when who gave us tea and demonstrated how they make the oil - but be careful of the shop - no prices marked and not cheap). In the village we met the lovely Momo who spoke great English and was very welcoming. We made tagines with the help of Yusef (an artisan potter who makes up to 120 / day!), using a potters wheel powered by foot, the same technique as has been used for hundreds / thousands of years! We then went for a lovely long walk, ending up at a beautiful villa where we were served a delicious lunch (including a pudding with birthday candle and a chorus of Happy Birthday from the 3 guys ! - Such a kind and lovely touch!).Finally we lazed in the sun by a gorgeous pool before being taken home. Thank you again.

👍👍 - Far and away the best day I’ve spent in Morocco! I cannot recommend this experience enough for anyone looking for an authentic introduction to the region. This is not merely a pottery class and a walk in the mountains but an incredible opportunity to immerse yourself in Momo’s mountain Berber village. The day started with an hour drive from Marrakesh with the kind driver Said, stopping for a lovely Berber breakfast at an Argan oil cooperative. The pottery lesson with foot powered wheel was an amazing experience and the potter was so patient and helpful. The walk through the olive groves was beautiful and it was fascinating to chat with Momo about his culture. The guesthouse was absolutely gorgeous and tranquil and the three course lunch and service were excellent. I have never experienced such thoughtful hospitality and consideration for my comfort. From delicious traditional food and drinks, to sunscreen and coveralls during the pottery lesson, Momo anticipated my needs before I did!

Atlas day - 100% recommendation! 🤗 Momo is such a obliging person. We felt very comfortable and welcome. In other tourist activities we experienced time pressure and a rushed standard program. Here with Momo it was completely different! The taxi transfer was comfortable. The clay worker had much patience with us during the pottery session and all our individual wishes were considered. We had much fun and learned a lot. It was a wonderful experience to get to know the culture and people authentically. We had great conversations with Momo while drinking tea in the berber village and while hiking a beautiful way 90min to a guesthouse. We enjoyed a stunning view of the Atlas Mountains. After arriving we got incredibly delicious homemade lunch in a beautiful garden. Plus our vegetarian diet was accommodated with great care. It was the best day of our trip—very peaceful & authentic. We will cherish this special day as a wonderful memory! Thank you so much to Mohamed and the family in the village 🙏🏼

This experience was the... - This experience was the highlight of our trip in Morocco and without a doubt, one that you shouldn't miss. I truly believe this private pottery class is perfect for all skill levels. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned potter, learning the traditional methods of making a tagine on a kick wheel was an exciting and unique challenge. Even experienced potters would find it to be a refreshing new skill to master! After being shown around the pottery workshop, Youssf gave an amazing demonstration on the steps of making a tagine—from the base, to the lid, and how it's further refined. We even had the opportunity to create our own personalized plate, complete with our names, and another piece that was fired for us to pick up later. After the pottery session, we took a walk through the town of Amizmiz, passing fields of olive trees, before arriving at a cozy guesthouse for a delicious, home-cooked lunch. Our guide, Momo, made the experience even more special by sharing his experiences and knowledge. The entire experience was unforgettable—from the warm, flavorful chicken tagine (easily the best I had in all of Morocco) to using a kick wheel for the first time. If you’re looking for an authentic, hands-on experience that takes you outside the usual path, this is the perfect adventure. Don't think, just book—you won't regret it!

Unforgettable Experience - My friends and I went on this experience the day after we arrived in Morocco, and what an amazing way to begin our trip! Our driver Said and our pottery guide Momo provided us with such an amazing experience that I will never forget. Our driver Said picked us up at Jemaa El-fnaa square as we were staying within the Medina. Said was very kind and welcoming and although there was some language barriers, he made every effort to try and communicate with us (as we did with him). We picked up our pottery guide Momo on the way. We arrived to a Berber village where we then saw the pottery masters at work, hand crafting tagines with such skill and craftsmanship. Youssf, one of the craftsman demonstrated us how to make tagine and then eventually we each got to try it for ourselves. They provide a coverup so you don't have to worry about getting your clothes dirty. While you're in the seat, they go step by step and guide you throughout the way. I'm definitely a beginner to pottery, so Youssf helped me a bunch to ensure my tagine still came out beautiful. They even help you make a second piece of your choice - I made a little bowl. After the pottery portion, Momo guided us through the Berber village with about a 1.5 hour walk to a guest house where we had lunch. This scenic walk through the countryside was definitely a highlight for me. It was quiet and peaceful, and gives you a glimpse inside Berber living overlooking the picturesque Atlas mountains. Momo was very warm and informative, sharing with us interesting information about Moroccan culture and pointing out landmarks during our walk. We arrived at this beautiful guest house where we were served a delicious lunch. A three course meal, including a delicious chicken tagine! The staff made us feel at home and it was a lovely way to relax after our adventurous day. At the end, Momo and Said drove us back to the square to end our amazing day. Just remember that your pottery needs a few days before it's ready for you to take home. Luckily, this was at the beginning of our trip so we knew we would be back in Marrakech at the end of our trip before flying home. Momo was very kind and dropped off our pottery at the accommodation we ended up in at the end of our trip in Marrakech. So make sure to do this earlier in your trip to make sure you can take it home! Highly recommend this to anyone staying in Marrakech or nearby cities and are looking for something unique to do outside of the busy Medina!

Day to discover the real Morocco! - Many thanks to Mohamed for his kindness and hospitality. We spent pleasant moments with him, between the introduction to pottery, where we had a good laugh, and the magnificent walk in his area. Everything was perfect, including delicious lunch. We hope to return to the region very soon to say hello and participate in other activities with you. You can really trust Mohamed, you will not be disappointed with your activities. See you soon.

Amazing. - We contacted Simo, who was very responsive in his answers and kindly adapted the meeting and pick-up point. On D-Day, the driver was there on time and very careful driving to our pottery business. Youssef, Simo and their families welcomed us with open arms to introduce us to pottery. They were very pedagogical and patient. We received tea and delicious bread straight out of her mom's oven. We then left the pottery workshop for a 1h30 hike through the beautiful landscapes of the Atlas. It is a very pleasant walk to the olive grove where we were served an excellent meal and one of the best tagines we ate during our stay in Morocco. We were then able to enjoy the beautiful setting and the pool for the rest of the afternoon. Another big thank you to Simo for a wonderful day!
