Highlights
  • 9 Derb nakhka - After meeting at our meeting point, we will have a short tour of a local market near our house to buy vegetables and all the other ingredients we will need to cook.

Then we go to our house, where we first teach you how to make fresh mint tea and have it together while we get to know each other. Next, we start cooking by starting with the dish that takes the most time to cook because we will put it on fire while making other dishes. We will all work together as one team to make different dishes, and this helps you learn more than just a specific dish. We will normally be making different tagines. It could be with veggies, chicken, beef, or meat balls. We also make couscous at our workshop, but it would be better if you had specified that before the cooking class.

We will also have a tea break in between, and we might go to the rooftop of our house to have a panoramic view over the medina and to see the landscapes of the Atlas Mountains.
We share recipes after class as a document for the dishes we make and many other dishes.

Next, we dive into the cooking phase. Fantastic Moroccan Cooking Class - Booked this cooking class for my mother to learn authentic Moroccan dishes with Hassan/Ahmed. They started by visiting a local market, where he taught them how to choose the freshest produce and spices. Back in the kitchen, Hassan's clear instructions and personal attention made the cooking process enjoyable and educational for my mom. The final dish was beautifully presented and delicious. Apparently the class was all men (interesting men are learning to cook ;)). Hassan's passion for Moroccan cuisine and teaching made this class a fantastic experience. Highly recommended! We also just got the recipes and hoping a few extra tips for cous cous which we love as a dish! Also taking a Tajine back home.

The great way to discover Moroccan cuisine by cooking it ourselves - This was the most fun and memorable experience I had in Marrakech. Chef Hassan is the most gentle and patient teacher I have ever met. Initially, I was quite shy but he always includes everyone in doing every steps of selecting fresh produce and cooking which made me feel at ease. In very short span of time, I became friends with all participants despite our different nationality and mother tongue. And finally, the food we made tasted amazing, best Moroccan food ever. Until now, I’m still salivating the wonderful taste of every dishes while typing this review. I shall join this class again whenever I’m in Marrakech in the future.

Cooking Moroccan style in the Medina - I learnt so much about not only about cooking but also Moroccan culture. Our host was open and answered all our questions not only about cooking but day to day life as a Moroccan day to day life. The food we made was absolutely delicious much better than in the restaurants. I would definitely recommend.
