Bab Agnaou - Bab Agnaou is one of the 19 gates that allow entry into the ramparts of Marrakech. This gate, known as “bab” in Arabic, dates back to the Almohad Berber period in the 12th century. It served as an entrance to the administrative and military complex of the Caliphal Kasbah, the citadel of power, from the southern part of the city. Flanked by two cannons, it is one of Marrakech’s most impressive gates.

Bahia Palace - The Bahia, meaning “The Beautiful,” is an 8,000-square-meter marvel of intricate marquetry, plasterwork, and zouak (painted wood), and is undoubtedly one of Marrakech’s most stunning sights. Built by Grand Vizier Si Moussa in the 1860s, the salons of both the Petit Riad and Grand Riad feature intricate marquetry and zouak ceilings. However, the Cour d’Honneur, a grand courtyard with a 1,500-square-meter floor of Italian Carrara marble, is the highlight. Despite the vast area, only a portion of the palace’s eight hectares and 150 rooms is open to the public. Its grand spaces occasionally host significant cultural events.
-
Souk Semmarine - After lunch, prepare for a long walking tour to explore and discover the vibrant markets or “Souks.” Follow the guide to explore the markets in Marrakech’s Medina, where Arab and Berber cultures burst with color, noise, and originality. Experience the aroma of spices, taste olives, feel leather goods, and purchase local handicrafts.
-
Ben Youssef Madrasa - Once the largest Koranic school in the Medina, the Ben Youssef Madrasa now serves as a historical site. It was the largest Islamic college in Morocco at its peak. Named after the nearby Ben Youssef Mosque, founded by the Almoravid Sultan Ali ibn Yusuf (reigned 1106-1142), it is considered one of the best spots in the red city. A guide will provide extensive information about it.
-
Jemaa el-Fnaa - Travel by car to visit this renowned square. From sunrise to sunset, Jemaa El Fnaa is alive with storytellers, acrobats, and street vendors, infusing energy into the heart of the old walled city. In the evening, it transforms into an open-air dining area, filled with small food stalls and local flavors. This bustling square is a major attraction for tourists in Marrakech.
-
Jardin Majorelle - Depart the old Medina and head to the Nouvelle Ville to explore this botanical and artist’s landscape garden in Marrakech. Created by French Orientalist artist Jacques Majorelle in 1923, it opened to the public in 1947. Featuring a Cubist villa designed by French architect Paul Sinoir in the 1930s, the garden is a highlight of Marrakech. Nearby, the new Yves Saint Laurent Museum offers a well-curated experience showcasing YSL’s brilliance and attention to detail. The gift shop offers a wide selection of items at various price points.
-
Musee Berbere Jardin Majorelle - The Berber Museum, inaugurated in 2011 under the High Patronage of His Majesty Mohammed VI, King of Morocco, is housed in the former painting studio of artist Jacques Majorelle. It showcases the extraordinary creativity of the Berbers (Imazighen), the oldest people of North Africa. Over 600 objects, collected from the Rif Mountains to the Sahara by Pierre Bergé and Yves Saint Laurent, highlight the richness and diversity of this vibrant culture, which remains alive today.
-
Musee Yves Saint Laurent Marrakech - Dedicated to the legendary French fashion designer, the Musée Yves Saint Laurent Marrakech (mYSLm) opened in autumn 2017. It houses a significant selection from the Fondation Pierre Bergé – Yves Saint Laurent’s impressive collection, including 5,000 clothing items, 15,000 haute couture accessories, and tens of thousands of sketches and assorted objects. Designed by the French architecture firm Studio KO, founded by architects Olivier Marty and Karl Fournier, the building is located on Rue Yves Saint Laurent, adjacent to the famous Jardin Majorelle. Spanning over 4,000 m2, it features a 400 m2 permanent exhibition space showcasing Yves Saint Laurent’s work with an original scenography by Christophe Martin, a 150 m2 temporary exhibition space, a 130-seat auditorium, a bookshop, a café-restaurant with a terrace, and a research library housing 5,000 books.

Gueliz - This is the final drive through the French section or new town. Gueliz is the heart of modern Marrakech, with its main avenues being Mohammed VI and Mohammed V. Avenue Mohammed V connects the Old Medina of Marrakech with the modern town of Gueliz. This area is popular among foreigners living in Marrakech, with its wide, French-era streets home to upscale Moroccan and European restaurants, cabarets, chic bars, art galleries, and mainstream fashion stores. Created by the eponymous painter and later owned by Yves Saint Laurent, Gueliz offers malls, cafes, nightclubs, restaurants, and numerous international brand stores such as Zara, Diesel, Louis Vuitton, H&M, and more.
