Marrakech - Ouarzazate - M’hamid
Marrakech - Begin the luxurious 4-day, 3-night desert tour at 08:00 with a pick-up from your hotel, Riad, or any preferred location, heading towards the enchanting Erg Chigaga. The journey starts in Marrakech, and as we leave the red city, we will traverse the High Atlas Mountains, crossing the Tizi N’Tichka pass….
Marrakech - Ouarzazate - M’hamid
Marrakech - Begin the luxurious 4-day, 3-night desert tour at 08:00 with a pick-up from your hotel, Riad, or any preferred location, heading towards the enchanting Erg Chigaga. The journey starts in Marrakech, and as we leave the red city, we will traverse the High Atlas Mountains, crossing the Tizi N’Tichka pass. Along the way, enjoy the breathtaking views of steep roads and charming Berber villages with their simple yet stunning landscapes.
Next, we will pass through Ouarzazate and cross the second pass, Tizi N’Tinfifite (1660m), before reaching the head of the Draa Valley, Agdez. The drive will take us through various towns and palm groves, offering a glimpse into the local lifestyle and oasis. In the evening, we will arrive at M’hamid, where dinner and an overnight stay at the hotel await.
M’hamid - Erg Chigaga
Erg Chigaga - After a delightful breakfast, the journey continues to the last oasis of Draa and the Kasbahs. Following lunch in Mhamid El Ghizlane, the adventure proceeds to the Erg Chegaga dunes. These remote dunes, located about 50 km off-road, are accessed by a 4×4 vehicle, passing through diverse desert landscapes, including Erg, Reg, and Hamada.
The off-road journey leads to Erg Chigaga, where you can immerse yourself in the wildlife, enjoy a camel ride, try sandboarding, and witness the breathtaking sunset over the highest dunes of the Moroccan Sahara. After dinner, gather around the fire to sing Berber songs under the stars before retiring to a luxury tent at Erg Chegaga.
Erg Chegaga - Ouarzazate
Erg Chigaga - Rise early to witness the sunrise over the Erg Chigaga dunes, followed by breakfast. The next leg of the journey, lasting about 3 hours, explores the sublime desert, featuring Iriki Lake, mountains, and fossils. The first town on the route is Foum Zguid.
From there, travel on paved roads through Taznakht, a town renowned for its Berber carpets and rugs, before continuing to Ouarzazate for an overnight stay at Riad Bouchedour or a similar accommodation.
Ouarzazate - Ait Benhaddou - Telouat - Marrakech
Telouet - After breakfast, head towards the UNESCO-listed Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, a fortified Ksar with stunning Kasbahs. Ait Benhaddou has been a popular filming location for many movie producers. The journey continues to Telouet Kasbah, once belonging to the Lords of the Atlas, now in ruins. The tour then proceeds through the High Atlas Mountains to Marrakech, concluding the adventure at your hotel or Riad.
