Additional Information

The Medina of Marrakech is home to a complex network of souks, or marketplaces, grouping over 2,600 Moroccan artisans across approximately twenty guilds. Each souk is divided by both geographic location and vocation. The main marketplace stretches throughout the centre of the Medina, starting from the northern end of the renowned Jemaa el-Fna square to the Ben Youssef medersa. The key paths that intersect the souks are exclusive to vendors, typically supplied by the tradespeople working in the nearby corridors. Local merchants and artisans manufacture and peddle traditional Moroccan goods such as jewellery, vases, tea ware, lanterns, trays, pots, carpets, leather goods, clothes, fabrics, ceramics, perfumes, food items, traditional Moroccan confectioneries and spices. To tailor the three-hour tour to your likes, you’ll be queried about your preferences at the outset and your guide will then craft an itinerary that best accommodates the group.

Our guide not only allowed us to navigate stress-free through the maze of busy streets, but also shared with us in-depth knowledge about local history, culture and traditions. Thanks to him, we discovered hidden treasures, met talented artisans and tasted exquisite flavors. Must do in Marrakesh ! - Friendly, knowledgeable, and super informative was our guide mohamed led a fantastic and insightful stroll around the souq of Marrakesh that brought the city, its history, culture, and traditions to life. Genuine and kind, he knows a lot of people around the souk and is fluent in English too, so you get an excellent grasp on details and observations about life and sense of community in Marrakesh. If you want a professional but personable guide to show you local hidden gem places (you'll make a couple of stops along the way but there is no pressure to buy) or revisit afterwards to snag some treasures by yourself, mohamed is the only guide you'll need in Marrakesh. definitley recommand !

Great Tour, Great Guide THANK YOU !! - Mohamed was a fantastic guide - he showed us many interesting sites including the traditional bakery and hammam and le Jardin Secret. We sampled delicious local food. We also visited a number of artisan workshops to see how the craftsmen create their wares. We even learnt how to knot a Berber carpet! The whole experience was wonderful. All of the stores we visited had very friendly staff who were not pushy in the slightest. Definitley recommand.

The cultural heart of Marrakech - We’ve just finished our afternoon tour of the Souqs with Mohammed , we met in front of the Cafe de France and started the tour from there with another couple from Belgium. We were shown not only the shops and stores in the souqs but also the trades represented there - great to see carpets and metal lamps being made in the back streets. It wasn’t a shopping trip as such (but I’m sure you can shop if you ask) but more of an education of the area, it’s history and it’s people. At 3 hours it’s a long walk although you are sheltered from the direct sun much if the time. our guide have a great commentary without bombarding us with too much unnecessary detail. We stopped for coffe at the half time point which was nice. Definitley recommand
