Fun day trip at the beach with the waves - We got picked up at 8 in the morning from our hotel in a comfortable 8 seater vehicle with AC and a driver (Abdel) who took good care of us, let us play our music via Bluetooth. We had a couple stops to fuel up with some food, and another to check out some natural organic argan oils where we got to see the process in how they're made. We also stopped for some pictures due to the great scenary. The surfing itself was fun and good for beginner level people such as our group. The beach was quite windy and the waves were active and not big so you really get the chance to try to learn, though it was still very difficult to successfully ride waves on the surfing board. It was still fun and our driver Abdel also have us time after the surfing to eat and explore the beach and area of Essaouira that we were in. We ended the day playing some beach football before heading back. Abdel really took care of us and made the trip fun and was a great guide for us in this day trip. Thank you to the surfing team and to Abdel

Great trip - This is the second time I’ve used Marrakech snow and surf. Several years ago I did the same trip and we brought the surf board with us from Marrakech. This time, they organized surf lessons through Loving Surf in Essaouira. Both experiences were great. We managed to fit in some cultural things too: stopping at a low pressure Argan oil collective on the drive out and a two hour city tour after surfing. Other tours can book an entire van, this was just two of us. Essaouira also has a lot better shopping than Marrakech — lower (marked) prices and less haggling. Don’t buy souvenirs ahead of time in the souks. Highly recommend.

Great surfing experience! - We had a really nice day with Karim in Essaouira! He gave a great surf lesson and a nice tour around Essaouira where we got to see some nice spots and some of the places where the Game of Thrones series was made. The car ride there is quite long (2,5 hours) but we got to see beautiful landscape on the way so it was definitely worth it.

Top quality day out, good surf with a top guy. - We set off early from the hotel in Marrakech and it took a little over two hours to get to Essaouira, stopping along the way to get a great photo of some goats that had climbed into a tree. We got to Essaouira but the tide was low so we had a wander around the town, the fort and the harbour, got something to eat and had a good chat about the place. After an hour or so the tide had turned and the waves were picking up. A range of different boards are available depending on your ability and many wet suits in different sizes. I got in the surf, Karim gave me some pointers and joined me in the water. After a few hours, I was well knackered, but what an experience. It is a really nice town to see and how many chances do you get to surf in Africa? The waves are really good for a beginner / intermediate surfer. Dried off, had a lovely lunch at a beach side restaurant and jumped back in the van for a comfortable ride back to Marrakech. My advie, sign up and get involved!!! Thanks again.

Amazing place, amazing company and a amazing guy. - Me and and my partner pre-booked our surf trip with half a day tour around Essaouira for early on in out planed 10 day trip to Marrakesh, and boy we are glad we did. The Trip started with Karim picking us up from are hotel where we had a nice drive down to Essaouira stopping twice on the way, once to look at some goats in a tree and second for a drink. Karim was very engaging, friendly and is very well traveled his local knowledge of the area is second it none. Once at Essaouira we had a look at the surf and decided it was best to wait for it to pick up, so we went off parked the van and Karim took us on a tour around Essaouira showing us all sights including where some scenes of Game of Thrones was filmed and telling us the history and how the local people went about there day to day business. Once the tour was finished we went back to look at the surf and seeing that it had picked up we got changed into our wet suits grabbed our boards and went to have some fun. This was only the 2nd time me and partner have ever been surfing, the first time over 5 years ago, so what we knew about surfing you could write on your little finger. But we needed of not have worried Karim is a fantastic instructor braking things down in steps and ensuring you are confident in each step before moving on to the next. Last time me and my partner went surfing she never even managed to stand up and i only managed a couple of times, this time with Karim instruction and guidance my partner was standing up and managing to stay up, i was popping up comfortably and even catching a few green waves (i did not know what they where till i was told). Once our time in water was done we went back to van dried off got changed then went for something to eat and a well deserved beer at a restaurant on the beach. After we had eaten and ready to go back we were taken back to our hotel. Once back at the hotel me and partner reflected on what a good day we had and on looking at the surf and snow website we went and booked a day of wakeboarding what ended up us booking yet abother day wakeboarding. I will leave a separate review for 2 days of wakeboarding.

Great day, even better company! - Karim was a class act and put together a great day-trip to the coast. He was prompt, thoughtful and always offered up new information about Morocco and never hesitated to stop along the beautiful route from Marrakech to Essaouira to take a scenic picture or pick up some argan oil. Highly recommended!

He's "Karim" (Cream) of the Crop lol :P - Do not hesitate booking a tour with Karim. I am from San Diego, CA and recently moved to Naples, Italy. I booked a last minute flight to Marrakech from Naples on Monday and flew out the next day. I even booked my hotel right before I flew out so I was not prepared at all. All I knew was that I have been dying to go to Marrakech. I traveled to Morocco with the idea of just admiring the architecture and going shopping and staying in the medina. A lot of my friends warned me that I'm probably going to be harassed by the shopkeepers. I left Naples to get away but then I found myself wanting to get away from Marrakech! So this is where Marrakesh Surf & Snow comes in. I was intrigued seeing the logo Marrakech Surf & Snow and got to talking with Karim so I asked about his tours. He mentioned he had a couple on a surf tour to Essaouira the next day and said I'm welcome to tag along. I talked to a lot of the locals and kept hearing about Essaouira and how beautiful it is. Having heard about Essaouira, wanting to get away from the medina, finding out Karim lives in San Diego over the summers, and hearing that the couple was Australian (I have family in Sydney), I knew it was going to be a good time! It was. He picked me up where all the tour busses pick up the tourists at the southeastern part of Jemaa El Fnaa which is south of Cafe France at 9am. It is usually at 8am but the days are longer so he changed it to 9am. Karim is a really great conversationalist. He has traveled a lot and lived in a lot of cities so he has so many great stories. He is really knowledgeable about a lot of things and was great at talking about the different landmarks and answering our questions. We stopped to see the the jumping goats. Had a bathroom break and tea/coffee/coke at a rest stop. We got to Essaouira and, although I'm from San Diego, I don't swim or surf. SURPRISE! Yes, I am on a surf trip but I don't intend to surf. 🤣 Anyway, the 3 of them started talking about how great the conditions will be a lot later and that we should kill time in the medina and see where the Sully in Game of Thrones was filmed. We went into the castle, took pictures, went shopping, went surfing, and had a late lunch/early dinner at Fanatic Restaurant. I could see how it would be stressful without him because you would have to find where to go, what to do, how to move from one place to another, etc. But Karim knows where to go, how to kill time, has a huge van to carry everyone and their surfboards, reserved parking, and he's super patient about everything! Like I said, don't hesitate booking the tour with Karim. It felt a lot like being on a road trip with friends!
