Unlike a sandy desert, Agafay features a landscape of sandstone and clay plateaus, with villages constructed of traditional mud, desolate riverbeds, and in the spring, lush green areas and flora. Visitors have the opportunity to enjoy local tea with residents.

Exploring the trio of valleys in this region takes you through secluded, fertile lands where the daily routines of the indigenous Berber people continue in harmony with age-old customs. Spend a day immersing yourself in authentic Moroccan culture as you traverse this timeless terrain, uncovering its many secrets and breathtaking views.

A fabulous day out - Absolutely fabulous day. Our guide was with us all day. We started with the camel ride in the Agafay desert and then took in some fabulous views before heading into the Atlas Mountains. Our Berber lunch was in the home of our guide and was gorgeous . Then it was an hour hike up to the waterfalls of Imlil. So beautiful 🥰. Can’t recommend this trip enough.

Great experience, nice food, magnificent view - Great experience! Welcoming, punctual, friendly, very helpful. We were family with elderly. They let our parents stay at the house after lunch because they can’t go for hiking and they send them at the meeting point after hiking before depart back.

Amazing trip and home-cook food. Highly recommended. 5 Stars!!! - On the date before the trip, I was a bit worried. I did WhatApps tour operator, and I received the confirmation they will pick my family up at 9 AM from Hotel. The tour lasts a whole day as the destination is far from Marrakesh. The camel ride was amazing. Ibrahim is kind and very attentive. He arranged bottled water. His mother has prepared home-cooked lunch for us, perhaps the best tagine we had in our time in Marrakesh.

Best choice you can make - Simply amazing! They picked us up 30 min later just to let us have breakfast at our hotel, after that a few more people and straight on the road to the rocky desert. After the sightseeing in the desert we went on the camel site run by the family; a huge tent tea and cake for all of us. Followed by the camels and off to imsil were we ate in the guide’s home (i think) next stop a rather mid length walk to the waterfalls and the bus waiting for us on the way back down. And we are on the road back to marrakech with a final stop in the argan oil cooperative, which in our opinion was really not that interesting, anyhow very kind ladies there. Overall excepcional treatment by the guide taking care of all of us, funny and joking guy and the trip was more like a 9 hour ish than the 7 stated in the site TOTALLY RECOMMEND !

Wonderful experience - Excellent communication beforehand and a prompt pick up from hotel in a comfortable minibus. The driver was lovely and skilled; we felt safe on all the hairpin bends on the way to the mountains! We were provided with cold bottles of water several times throughout the day. Our stop for the camel ride was far superior to my expectations as I was wary about how they may be treated. It was actually where the camels lived, we were shown their stables and some adorable baby camels. All were clean and well kept. While we waited for our turn to ride we were given mint tea and pastries in a delightful shaded area. We had a chance to chat to each other and ask questions of our guide. He was very informative and explained about Moroccan culture and Muslim beliefs. It was Ramadan whilst we we there and I felt privileged to learn and have a greater understanding of this beautiful country. The camel ride was great fun, we were given optional traditional outfits and headgear (all from a fresh clean pile) and then went on a half hour trek around the area. The robes and headgear turned out to be useful protection against the sun. After another drive further into the mountains we stopped for lunch at our guide’s house in his Berber village. What an amazing experience! We ate a feast of freshly prepared Moroccan food; tagines, couscous, salad and bread. All served by members of the family, there was plenty to go round. After lunch those who wanted to went on an hours trek into the mountains ( suitable footwear is essential as we navigated narrow paths and slippery rocks along the way). The scenery was stunning, the highlight being a waterfall accessed over bamboo bridges, not for the faint hearted. The guide very kindly held my hand in the more treacherous spots, but definitely an experience not to be missed. All in all an amazing day, incredible value for money, run by skilled and knowledgeable people. 100% recommend this company.
