Highlights
  • Marrakech - will meet you outside of Café Argana at 8:30 am (in Jamaa el Fna square). From there we will be picked up by our driver and begin our journey to the High Atlas mountains. Our first stop will be a peaceful place where you’ll be dressed in traditional Berber clothes and enjoy a camel ride. Next we’ll drive to a women’s argan oil cooperative where there will be a bread & oil tasting with Moroccan tea.
  • Imlil Day Trips - Next stop will be Imlil (altitude 1740 m), the picturesque and lively valley which will be the starting point of our hike. It is a nice place with a fast flowing river, walnut trees and very traditional Berber villages dotted throughout. From here we will start our walk with a leisurely stop at my charming home where you can take in the stunning view from my rooftop terrace while you enjoy a delicious Berber lunch prepared lovingly by our mother.
  • Atlas Mountains Guided Tour - After lunch we’ll continue our walk through the Berber villages and pass by a spectacular waterfall, after which we will find our car waiting to drive us back to Marrakech (arriving back in the city at approximately 5:30pm).

Saturday and Tuesday tours also include a visit to a local Berber farmer’s market.

Amazing - 11/10 day, couldn’t recommend more!! After the camel ride we went to the Argan oil cooperative (where they serves breakfast) . Then on to the waterfalls and a little hike to our guide Hiham’s house, where his family cooked a huge delicious lunch of taghine, couscous, salad, dessert and mint tea. Thank you Hiham and Younes !

10/10 Hidden Gem! - A truly phenomenal experience! We originally booked it for the camel rides but that some how ended up being the least amazing thing we did that day. We were completely immersed in Berber culture, visiting a local women's cooperative, walking through a local market, and hiking in the Atlas mountains with a guide who actually lives there. The best part was that we ended at our tour guides home and were fed a huge delicious meal of tajine made by his mother and sister! 10/10 for sure, I HIGHLY recommend!

ATLAS MOUNTAINS, WATERFULS AND BERBER CUISINE - From start to finish this was an excellent experience. Mohammed picked us up from the hotel and first stop was the camel ride. En route to the Atlas Mountains we stopped at the co-operative for the argan oil and were educated by the women as to its source, extraction and use with products available to buy with the money going to support the children of the women. We then went to the Atlas mountains where we were met by our guide Ishim who took us on a planned route. He then took us to amazing waterfalls where we could take superb photos before taking us to his home where a delicious 3 course meal awaited us. The food was exquisite and beautifully prepared. Thank you to Mohammed and Ishim for their informative tour. Would highly recommend these guides.

Once in a lifetime experience! - This is a must do when in Marrakech to truly experience the culture and get off the beaten path! I am so thankful to our wonderful guide for the experience, without him it would not have been possible. My favorite part was the hike to the waterfall & the traditional Berber lunch at our guides home. Thanks again to such a hospitable family, this experience was the highlight of my trip to Morocco!

MUST DO DAY TRIP WHILE IN MARRAKECH - Our guide Hisham made the trip to Morrocco completely worth it! We were a bit nervous going into the trip being that we had heard many horror stories (and given the great price it seemed too good to be true), but he made the entire experience unforgettable in the best way. We started the day off riding camels, and while that was what we were initially most excited about, the rest of the day made that part the least thrilling. The camels were very sweet, seemed extremely well cared for, and everyone made us very comfortable while riding (even our friends who were slightly afraid of the camels). Afterward, we stopped at many beautiful valleys within the Atlas mountains for photos and visited a women-owned Argan Oil cooperative. The women gave us delicious food and showed us how they make almond butter, and even let us try it ourselves. They explained their vast array of products and allowed us to sample all of them! We were lucky enough to book a Saturday trip and got to tour the Berber weekly market. Hisham made sure that we were safe from any theft or heckling within the market, and was even so kind as to buy us some bananas (side note: phenomenal bananas). We then traveled through an incredible mountainside with amazing lush valleys, mountain views, and a picturesque stream running through. We then hiked through the villages to arrive at a stunning waterfall! Our guide was extremely helpful throughout the hike, allowing us as many breaks as were needed. He then brought us to his family's home where his mother and sisters (who were just as kind as him) made us an incredibly delicious 3-course traditional Berber meal. Hisham was exactly on time to pick us up and made sure we were comfortable the entire time. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone staying in Marrakech, as it was a perfect way to get away from the city for a day and meet some of the kindest people Morrocco has to offer. If I am ever back in Marrakech, I would definitely reach out to Hisham first!

Once in a lifetime experience-10/10 for price, fun/adventure, and staff! - I highly recommend this tour! It is a great way to spend a day exploring. Our guide Hicham was so fun and friendly! He always made sure we were having a good time, was incredibly hospitable, and showed us some amazing views of the Atlas Mountains. You truly get more than you ask for as it is a great price and it was an experience like I’ve never had before. Definitely the highlight of my trip in Morocco and one of my favorite travel memories :)

Fantastic trip - Highly recommend this trip for going into the Atlas Mountains - I think it has great value for the cost. The tour guide - Wassim, is very friendly, kind and flexible. He is very knowledgeable about Berber culture and Morroco in general. After the camel ride and visiting an argan oil cooperative, we went into the mountains - stopped by a few Berber villages, had tea and a snack in one of the homes and visited the Imlil waterfalls. At the end, we had a delicious meal - Moroccan salad, chicken/vegetable tagine and fruit for desert in another family home (lunch was included in the cost of the trip). The drive into and back from the mountains felt safe. Also - it was a small group trip, only 5 of us (excluding the driver and tour guide).
