There is an optional stop at a women’s cooperative where Argan oil is extracted and processed into cooking oil and cosmetics.
Ksar of Ait-Ben-Haddou - Just before reaching the Hollywood city of Ouarzazate, there is a chance to visit the renowned Kasbah of Aït-Ben-Haddou, an ancient fortified clay city with numerous kasbahs. Several famous films, such as Gladiator, Kingdom of Heaven, Game of Thrones, and Prince of Persia, have been filmed here. No entrance fee is required, and you can enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. The Atlas Studio movie museum is located across the road (entrance fee applies).
Vallee Des Roses - The journey continues through the Valley of Roses to the Dades Valley, where you will spend your first night. Approximately 325 kilometers drive.
DAY 2: Dades Valley - Todra Gorges - Merzouga
Todra Gorges - After breakfast, the trip continues along the road of a thousand Kasbahs to the stunning Todra Gorges. The Todra River has carved these impressive 300-meter-high walls over thousands of years. This is a perfect opportunity for photography and a short walk in the Gorges and by the riverside.
Erfoud - After lunch in Tinjdad city, the journey proceeds through Erfoud town, known for its fossil workshops, to reach the desert. Here, you will meet your friendly camel guide and ride to the camp on camelback. Upon arrival, you can climb the high dunes and enjoy the breathtaking views as the sun sets. Settle into your private tent and enjoy mint tea before a traditional dinner is served. Spend the night stargazing or dancing around the campfire to the rhythm of desert drums. Dinner will be served in the Berber tents. Approximately 270 kilometers drive.
DAY 3: Merzouga - N’kob - Ouarzazate - Marrakech
Merzouga - Rise early to witness the first rays of sunlight over the desert. Enjoy breakfast at the camp and then ride your camel back to Merzouga. On the return journey through the Draa Valley towards Marrakech, there will be stops at various sites to capture photos of this beautiful valley and its river, the longest in Morocco. If the weather is unstable, the return will be via the same route taken earlier.
