Highlights

Itinerary:

Day 1: Marrakesh - Aït Benhaddou -
Ouarzazate - The Dadès Gorges

On the first day we leave behind Marrakesh at 8am to hit the road towards Ouarzazate. On the way we cross the striking Atlas Mountains, crossing through the stunning Tizi n’Tichka mountain pass, 2,260 metres high.

At the mid point of the journey we will arrive at the Aït Benhaddou Kasbah, the most impressive fortified city in all Morocco, and backdrop to movies such as Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator and Kingdom of Heaven.

The route then continues to Ouarzazate where we will take in the Taourirt Kasbah. Taking
The Road of a Thousand Kasbahs” towards Skoura we will then cross the Valley of the Roses to finally arrive at the Dadès Gorges, where we will spend the night.

Day 2: Dadès Gorges - Todgha Gorges - Merzouga

Having eaten breakfast we set off towards the Dadès Valley, crossing on the way the incredible Todgha Gorges where we will stay until lunch time. With our energy recovered, we move on in the direction of Merzouga, passing through the Jorf palm grove (which produces the best dates) and Erfoud, a village where you can visit a marble workshop.

Having arrived in Merzouga, we will swap our motor vehicles for camels to immerse ourselves in the desert, and search for the Bedouin camp where we will spend the night.

Here, soundtracked by desert silence, we will enjoy one of the most authentic dinners in all Morocco.

Day 3 Merzouga - Rissani-Alnif-Tazarine - Draa Valley - Agdz, Marrakesh

If there is one unmissable sight in the desert it is sunrise. Having enjoyed this tranquil moment, the tour returns to its camels, to make for a hotel where we can shower and have breakfast.

Passing through the Tafilalet palm grove and Rissani village (from where Morocco’s ruling Alaouite dynasty comes) the tour arrives at Alnif, where we take the road crossing the Anti Atlas mountain range. Through these remarkable mountainous passages we will arrive at Tazarine, (an important Berber village), N’kob and, finally the Draa Valley and its impressive palm grove.

Having crossed the mountain range by the Tizi n-Tinifift pass (1660 metres high) we arrive at Ouarzazate, where we will stop to eat before continuing our return journey to Marrakesh - leaving you at your hotel between 8 and 9 pm.

Great experience - The trip was great, highly recommended. We have stopped to see many places along the way, the first two days were great. Highlight was the camel ride to our tends in the dunes. Our driver Rachid was very friendly, helpful and explaining every bit of the trip. There is a lot of driving included, the third day was basically spent in the car but we were fully aware of this.

Incredible - The excursion to the desert has been wonderful and our guide Midi has been one of the best things about the trip, he explained everything perfectly to us and answered all our questions without problem, in addition to talking about his culture in depth. It has been a highly recommended experience.

Fantastic tour with an unbeatable guide. - Fantastic tours from Marrakech to the desert passing through very picturesque places to finish riding a camel through the desert to a tent where we spent the night. The guide "Milic" (I don't know if it's written like that) is a wonderful person, very friendly and good, with whom the trip was made very enjoyable, he explains everything interesting fantastically. If you have to take a tour of MARRAKESH I recommend "Milic".

It's better than I thought - The content was more informative than I expected and the facilities were better than I expected. Considering the price, it's even better. However, the restaurant's prices and menu variety were a bit disappointing. Other than that, the person in charge works hard to conduct the tour and tries to provide a lot of small help.

Amazing Experience! - The entire trip from beginning to end was amazing. We loved it all. I was surprised by how much we saw, we stopped at so many interesting places. Our guide was great at getting us to spots while they were less busy. Our guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and great at communicating. We were the only English speakers in our group, but he was good at making sure we knew what was happening at all times. We would love to return, and bring friends!

Impressive! - Small group with 14 participants. The organizer was probably mainly geared towards Spanish-speaking guests. But everything was always translated into English. Really great spots visited on the tour. Impressive nature and impressive buildings. And the highlight of course was the camel ride in the desert including an overnight stay in the camp. You definitely have to experience it! I felt in good hands with our driver/guide Youssuf. Despite his young age, he has been driving tourists for almost 10 years. This experience pays off! A few more explanations - also during the trip - would be great. The third day consists of almost 10 hours on the bus. That can be exhausting... But despite everything, I can really recommend the tour!
