Wonderful Souk/Market Experience - Firstly I'd like to thank our guide Imad for his expertise and his informative tour. He was great and the excursion is worth every penny. Here's why... The main market Square is easy enough to find without a tour guide, this is where you'll find the somewhat cruel monkey's on chains and snake "charmers" during the day and every variety of animal cooked in various ways by night. The reason I wanted a guide was because I had read that the Medina is a maze of markets and easy for a tourist to get lost in. Not what you want with interesting sights and smells around every corner. I can see how an unsuspecting tourist may we'll get lost in the Souk labyrinth. So onto the experience....Imad collected us from our hotel promptly and I was put at ease straight away by his friendly nature. On the drive to Marrakech, we we told about interesting sights along the way and a bit of Moroccan culture. We got dropped off by the main square and headed straight to the Medina (wher Imad grew up). There are over 10,000 market stalls so far too many to stop at all of them. But we did make our way around the different zones (such as leather, metal work, fabrics and clothes). My family of teens had very specific items in mind that they wanted to buy. We managed to keep them all happy, no mean feat! Imad won't necessarily do the haggling for you, but he did step in a few times to sort out any communication issues. Haggling....I hate it. I'm not used to it and can't stand it to be honest. But it's how deals are done out here. It's more like a game than anything else. If you can't come to an agreement for a pair of sunglasses, don't worry, because you'll find another stall selling them about every 5 stalls along. The vendors won't be giving their products away for nothing, so be prepared to get your wallet out. Fakes, Genuine Fakes and Genuine.... It seems strange, but there is definitely a difference between a fake and a genuine fake. For example, a fake will look fake, it might have wonky writing or look odd. A "genuine fake" seems to have been copied as near as dammit to the original item. Not for everyone I know. We saw things with this tour that you simply wouldn't have done if you decide to just go for a walk around the market by yourself. With Imad, we felt safe and if we needed a hand with bartering or a translator, he was brilliant. Imad...Thank you so much, we are all really pleased!

Absolutely friendly, welcoming, educational and fun - This company was absolutely unbelievable! Ever since I stuck on foot on Moroccan soil I was taken in by these guys. I booked three trips with Kamal and Morocco Nomadic Travel. I went to the day trip to Essaouira and saw a roadside argan oil cooperative with a tour and samples. Then I did the full city marrakech walking tour which was enlightening, beautiful and stunning. Tour was so informative, private and immersive and educational. Then I went on the Mountain hike at the high Atlas Mountains and it was gorgeous! The trip was also immersive into the local Berber culture. Plus good exercise and great lunch after. The food, hospitality and helpfulness of Morocco Nomadic travel were unmatched. I also booked airport transfers— everyone of these guys are the best! They are very responsive and quite affordable.
