Highlights
  • Marrakesh - At 9 AM we will pick you up from your hotel or riad in Marrakech City, to start your experience to Imlil Atlas Mountains. On our way, we will pass through the town of Tahnaout at Berber Village where we can stop at an Argan Oil Co-operative and just to learn how the woman of the co-operative turns the Argan nut into many of the different Argan Oil-based products Morocco is famous for. We will then continue on through Asni where, on Saturdays, a traditional Berber Souk and market can be visited.

Our journey will take us past waterfalls and the hamlets of Ait Mizan, we will stop off in Imlil and have the opportunity to take in the views of ancient irrigated terrace fields of barley, corn, and vegetables, surrounded by cherry and walnut trees. I will point out things of interest and I will talk to you about the Berber culture and heritage along the way. Go down through the village of Ait Souka and afterward enjoy a traditional Moroccan meal in a Berber family house.
Here you will have the opportunity to ride a camel on our way back via Moulay Gorges! And go back to your accommodation in Marrakech around 17:00 pm.

Beautiful tour from Mustapha! - Mustapha was an amazing guide! He was very knowledgeable about the places we went and took us to very authentic places to eat, one of which was his motherā€™s restaurant in the mountains. The hike was beautiful and we stopped at many amazing places to take photos and watch the views. The trip to the agafay desert was very cool, dressed up in traditional dress and had tea then went on a camel ride. Camels seemed well looked after too which was good to see. Very good value for the day, 100% recommend!!

The perfect choice for a trip into the Atlas mountains - Truly excellent value for money. I find it hard to imagine how they were able to offer such a 10 hour excursion with excellent and informative guides in a modern and comfortable vehicle including a dinner with a locale family in (our guides home). Our intelligent and attentive guide (Mustafa) explained in great detail not only the things we were viewing but also so much about the life & culture of both the city and remote rural areas. Be aware that the hike down to the waterfall is quite a hike involving some steep & unguarded steps & slopes especially if has rained as happened to us. The visit to a local produce market was amazing and we were not hassled in any way by the local traders. The trip included a womans co-oprative to taste local Argon & Olive oils where it was possible to buy local products, again with no one hassling us in any way to buy. The dressing up and camel ride was good fun. The dinner with the family of our guide was an excellent Tagine and couscous with salad was delicious, we certainly didn't need to eat again that day! From pick up at 08.30 to the drop off at around 18.45 we were looked after all the way. I have no hesitation in recommending this tour & company. Be aware that as you travel into the area you will clearly see the devastation & consequences of the 2023 earthquake with numerous tented settlelments. This disaster has had a far more disastrous effect and ongoing consequences to the simple mountain village communities than was experienced the city.

What can i say, except fantastic day out!! - We booked extremely late the night before, but Omar, guide and Abdul, driver arrived promptly for 9am pick up . Omar was very welcoming, presenting an itinerary to the group which sounded great. The group was approx 14 people which I felt was an ideal size. We went to several places, including a woman cooperative and the waterfalls. (Ensure you wear comfortable shoes throughout the day, preferably shoes with a good grip.) However, the highlight for me was the camel ride which was great fun and the fantastic family meal with Omar's family in their lovely Moroccan home. The food was so authentic and delicious served on the roof terrace overlooking the mountains...it was magical. Omar and Abdul were a great team.. Omar providing a good overview of the history of the Berber people and the Atlas Mountain...i Iearnt a lot. He was attentive, checking at different stages if we were all OK. He also waited for the group to come together before discussing important information which he relayed in French and England. I appreciated this. On the way home we were enterainef with a great mix of music. It ended my day with a smile. Lastly, i would like to say thank you to Abdul. His driving skills were required to navigate the bendy roads. Well done! I am hoping to revisit Morocco in the near future and will definitely be in touch with Omar and Abdul . In the meantime I will be recommending them to others. The price for the trip was superb. Such great value. Thank you again. Fabulous Morocco and the people.

A really lovely day out in the Atlas Mountains - We were able to book our trip just the day before and as well as the trip voucher by email had communication by phone and WhatsApp direct with the tour company. We were picked up on time in a comfortable air conditioned bus and picked up others in the tour on the way. Our guide, Omar Hisham Imzilen, spoke excellent English as well as French, Arabic and his own Berber language. He was very knowledgeable and was able to explain a lot about the various elements of the trip including interesting historical facts. Our trip included a camel ride, a typical Berber breakfast, a hike along the valley to see a very impressive waterfall. The area was very verdant irrigated as it was by the run off of melting snow from the mountain tops. The trip culminated with a fine Tagine on the roof terrace of a Berber family residence all of whom were very friendly and welcoming before our journey back to Marrakech where we were dropped off where were were previously collected from. I would highly recommending this tour operator.

An authentic and memory making experience - Omar was our guide and I have to say that he was absolutely excellent. A really big shout out to this up and coming local company who offer a truly authentic experience and Incredible value for money. It's heart warming to see local communities taking such great care of grass roots tourism, showing us their local women's cooperatives and welcoming us into their traditional communities.

A great experience, a must do! - Omar was our guide for the tour of the Atlas Mountains. It was our first time in Morocco, Marrakech and in the mountains, but we were made to feel at home the entirety of the trip. Omar is from the region and his love of the mountains and the Berber region comes through in every part of the trip. His overall narration was helpful and insightful; but we found all the offhand notes and facts educational and enjoyable. The meal made by his family in their home was a huge highlight and was among the best food we had on our trip! The value added was a real plus. We really didnā€™t have any complaints about the trip, it was a lovely end to our time in Morocco and a great way to spend a day.
