no crowds, no waiting - My husband and I took this private tour today, and we highly recommend it. We left at 6 am and avoided traffic and large tourist crowds. When we arrived at El Peñon, there were hardly any people there, and the same was true at Guatapé. The tourist buses started arriving just as we were about to leave the town, so we could take pictures and walk around almost alone. Our guide was Juan Carlos, who shared lots of information about Colombia, Medellín, and the places we visited. He was easygoing, friendly, and spoke excellent English. If you're choosing between a group tour and a private tour, I recommend going private. It will save you a lot of time and let you enjoy the sites before most tourists arrive.

Perfect Tour!! - The Tour to Guatape and The Rock of El Penol was a wonderful experience. Our tour guide, Juan Carlos, was truly special. His knowledge was unmatched!! My husband and I were treated with so much respect. From the people, sights, food we had an amazing time! We also learned a little history of Guatape and The Rock! I actually had no idea it would just be my husband and me. I've been on private tours before, but they included others. Having Juan Carlos as our tour guide was the icing on the cake! Truly special and we had an incredible time!! Can't wait to visit Medellin again! Thanks Juan Carlos for your hospitality! Truly appreciate it! This tour is a must!!

Awesome trip to El Peñol - We had a great time. Our guide, Santiago, was fantastic. He was knowledgeable, kind, and adapted the trip to be the most fun for my elderly mom and 7yo son.

Fantastic trip and experience - Fantastic, informative trip with a great guide Juan Carlos. Juan spoke excellent English and had a deep knowledge of all things Colombian! A very pleasant day. We left Medellin early, at 6, and would recommend this if you could manage it! Missed a lot of traffic and were alone at top of penon rock!

Great day on the outskirts of Medellin - Excellent tour visiting El Peñol with beautiful views after the effort of the 700 steps climb. Then we were in the picturesque and colorful town of Guatape, which we walked through its steep and decorated alleys where we found excellent shops to buy souvenirs, crafts and decoration items. Our guide Laura accompanied us throughout the tour providing all her knowledge and information about the places visited and the main facts that marked the history of Medellin and surroundings.

Perfect day - History, Fun and Culture - Great day with our tour guide Juan Carlos! Guatape is a must see/do if you visit Medellin. And to do it with a guide like Juan Carlos makes it all the more special. While the ascent to the top of the rock is challenging, the views make it all worthwhile! Just take your time and you will be fine! And beyond the rock, the visit to the town, and the history that Juan Carlos shared all drive and as we walked from the beginning of Colombia to modern day was fascinating and made the trip all the more special! A great day and an incredible experience!

La Piedra Del Peñol and Guatapé - We really enjoyed our day with Camilo, we started early at La Piedra del Peñol - which is advised as it gets very, very busy, then moved onto to Guatapé for lunch and a walk around the pretty streets. A great experience and fully recommended.
