Captain was fantastic - Booking with Viator was a terrible experience! We tried to book this experience for two days and it kept getting denied:( We took our chances and went directly to the boat and we were greeted with open arms and big smiles. The captain was friendly and knowledgeable. Out boat experience was great. I would suggest bringing your own snorkeling gear and fins.

Due to weather circumstances did not get the experience we wanted - Unfortunately, due to weather circumstances (wind) the trip was relocated two times. From south to east....and from east to west. Due to relocation we were not able to see/visit any caves. And the day itself the wind at Porto Cesareo appeared to be too strong to Kayak a longtime. So we want to a smalle island and stayed there all the time. Kids could snorkle but unfortunately there wqs not much too see. We missed seeing caves and kayaking a lot. Luckily the guides were very friendly and made the best of it. In the end.... too expensive for what we did.

The caves are great, yet I don't recommend Salento Outdoor, really bad organization - The experience is amazing, yet I would not recommend Salento Outdoor Experience. We had reserved and paid for our family of 4, yet when we arrived there was only kayaks seats for 3. They told us it is either you fit the 4 of you on a 3 person kayak either you don't go. Really bad planning, organization and communication. I then complained and at least asked for the refund of one of the children ticket, considering that the 3 hour trip was super uncomfortable for all of us. They said ok, but in the end, despite several reminders never did. I withhold my review until now, but would share it for the future.

Terrible communication - The company cancelled but didn’t let us know anything. We called over 8 times beforehand (we made the appointment for 15:00 and started calling on 9 o clock). We read negative feedback about them cancelling so we wanted to be sure before driving for hours. They didn’t respond to anything. It was only áfter 15:00 that they finally replied via WhatsApp (and not even to the person who made the reservation) that all excursions were cancelled that day. The person who made the reservation didn’t got a reply or email about the cancellation. It was a very bad experience and I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone.

Don’t book with this tour operator - Tour operator did not show up. We used Viator message service and operators provided phone number but they did not respond. Got on the phone with Viator and they could not reach them as well. Luckily we were able to book with a nearby local guide directly.

No communication, cancelled AFTER arriving for pick up. Not recommended - The business cancelled our event 15 minutes AFTER the meeting time, with no information or confirmation provided ahead of time. The excuse was “weather”. The day was bright blue skies, hot and sunny with no more than a light breeze and almost no swell. More likely, the organisers simply couldn’t be bothered to get out of bed for a couples kayaking tour of the caves. Pathetic attitude and very poor communication. We were looking forward to this excursion and it put a dent in our holiday.
