- Museo degli Infreschi - Explore the Museum of Frescoes to uncover the flora and fauna of the Marine Protected Area ‘Costa degli Infreschi e della Masseta’. Embark on an exciting journey to learn about the maritime traditions surrounding Infreschi Bay and its Tonnara, the prehistoric history of the Serratura cave, and discover notable species like Posidonia, Pinna Nobilis, the Caretta Caretta Turtle, and many more.
- Grotta Preistorica della Cala - The Cave of Cala is the first cave located just a few meters from the sea. It consists of a front cave and a back cave, connected by a narrow passage, resembling an hourglass. Pebbles and bone tools indicate the presence of Neanderthal ancestors who lived in the cave during the Middle Paleolithic. Later, Homo Sapiens used the cave more systematically. Hunting was essential at that time, leading to the discovery of various stone tools, such as scrapers and spine tips, faunal remains, marine shells used as ornaments, bone artifacts, and hearths. The traces found on the site allow us to mentally reconstruct lifestyles from 20,000 to 40,000 years ago.
- Camerota - Strolling through the streets of the medieval village of Camerota, visitors will encounter Pompey’s workshop, where the art of clay processing has been passed down for generations, with roots in Ancient Greece. From the workshop, it’s easy to reach his shop, which overlooks Piazza San Vito at the village entrance. The shelves are filled with beautiful creations. Pompey explains to visitors the various uses of items like jugs and “quartuccia.” There are containers for oil, wine, ashtrays, vases, jugs of all sizes, as well as nativity scenes, animals, and ceramics decorated in the Vietri style. Pompey’s wife, Antonia, brings life and color to the creations with her firm hand and different tempera. She mixes, wets with water, and fades, completing the beauties envisioned by her husband.
- Palazzo Santa Maria, Fondazione Meeting del Mare C.R.E.A. - Visit Palazzo Santa Maria, a seventeenth-century building overlooking the main square of Camerota’s historic center. From there, it ascends steps along the rocky ridge of the ancient village, almost reaching the medieval castle, the town’s highest point. This historic residence is nestled in the ancient center of Camerota Alta. All the rooms of the Palace, from the stables, cellars, main floor rooms, to the large attic, have been beautifully enhanced to create a habitat of incomparable charm, preserving traces of its origin with period furnishings and an intriguing collection of ancient and contemporary art, making it a must-visit for those exploring Cilento.
- Antica Osteria Del Borgo - Enjoy a tasting at Antica Osteria del Borgo, born from the love and passion that chef Rosalia, the restaurant’s owner, has for cuisine, tradition, and her homeland. Rosalia ensures her customers feel at home by offering typical Cilento cuisine that respects the original flavors of the past.
- Licusati - Visit the church of Santissima Annunziata in Licusati, located about 2 km from the village, which celebrates the Annunciation on May 18 and September 8. These dates are linked to two events where Mary’s maternal hand prevented disasters. During World War II, on May 18, the Germans planned to bomb the area, but Our Lady covered the valley with fog, hiding it. One plane crashed in the Valley of Sant’Angelo in Camerota, and the rest of the air team went to bomb Sapri. September 8 is celebrated for the averted danger during a violent earthquake at the beginning of the last century. Inside the sanctuary, visitors are greeted by the statue of Maria Santissima Annunziata, and upon looking up, they can see paintings by Rosalbo Bortone. Near the altar, the scenarios of the Birth and Death of Christ, created by Carmine Caputo, captivate visitors.
- Lido il mito degli dei - This eco-sustainable bathing establishment is located along the coast of Marina di Camerota, on Mingardo beach, a paradise with clear, crystal-clear waters. Tranquility, courtesy, and privacy, combined with good music, make the terrace “with the most beautiful sunset view in Italy” a perfect spot between sea and mountains to enjoy cocktails in complete relaxation and fun.
