So amazing! - Such an amazing tour! Dylan was amazing, you get a lot of information, and drive to important spots. A must do, better to use a guide than walk around my yourself.

Private Tour of Gibraltar - Our driver in Gibraltar was excellent. He has lived here all his life and his knowledge was vast and so interesting. He allowed us to take as much time as we needed to experience the Rock.

Gibraltar Trip from Marbella - We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Gibraltar! Our driver Juan was very friendly, making our commute to Gibraltar comfortable. Our tour guide Tom was amazing! As a life long resident of Gibraltar, he shared personal historical accounts, as well as shared a tremendous amount of information regarding the area! The tours to St. Michael’s Cave and the Siege Tunnel were really interesting! Of course seeing the Macaque monkeys in their natural habitat was entertaining! Strongly recommend the experience!

Ask for Thomas (a llanito) as your tour guide - We were very lucky that we had Thomas as our tour guide (on his 50th Birthday). Born and raised in Gibraltar, Thomas gave us an amazing tour of the the Rock with a big, fascinating dose of history on the side. Friendly with the apes, Thomas told us all about their history, their maintenance, and even their birth control plans! We had several close up interactions, and learned a ton about the animals, their habitat, and their husbandry. We also enjoyed a tour of the St. Michael's Cave and the Siege Tunnels. He was an amazing guide and really made the trip worthwhile. The tour will pick you up at the hotel, and then drop you off about 100m from the border crossing. You will walk across the border, and then meet your tour guide just on the other side, to whisk you off to the rock. The same happens on return. Overall, I would highly recommend the tour, and especially Thomas!

A must-do tour - Everything about this tour was top rate. Hotel pickup was punctual and driving by Juan very comfortable and safe. The guide, Tom, was most interesting and informative. His driving around some of the narrow roads on the Rock was commendable. Highlights included visiting the incredible St Michael’s cave with its amazing light and sound show of the rock formations, entering the Great Siege tunnel system excavated as a defence against the Spaniards and French , and a visit to the upper Rock nature reserve including the Sky Walk and seeing Barbary Apes with Tom supplying much information about their welfare and breeding programs. The tour concluded at Casemates Square with time for shops and the many restaurants.

Rip off - Our English speaking guide Tom was terrific. Very knowledgeable about Gibraltar The ride was smooth and comfortable however neither driver spoke English. For an hour and a half each way that was inexcusable. Also very confusing directions where to meet the driver waited 1/2 hour because he was late. For the cost of this trip, it was a rip off. Don’t take it

Disappointed in the quality of the vehicles and lack of professional service - We did a 7 hour private tour from Marbella to Gibraltar with Tours in Malaga booked through Marriott Bonvoy. The country is definitely something to see. We enjoyed St Michael’s Cave, the tunnel, apes den. We paid over $900 for the private transfers and local guide. The transportation was sub par. While the drivers were punctual, the cars were just ok. No waters offered by any of the drivers, the quality of the vehicles and drivers were not the best or most professional at all. The local guide Dennis was very nice and knowledgeable. He doesn’t get out of the taxi, just drives you from place to place and explains what to do and gives you history and facts. The car that met us at the end to take us back to the customs stop where you re enter Spain wasn’t air conditioned! It’s August and 90 degrees. The car was falling apart honestly. It was only a 10 minute ride but was not happy and very surprised. And the driver that picked us up in Marbella wasn’t prepared with our names we had to approach him and ask if he was our driver. Plus, he let the door close on my arm as we entered the van on the way back to Marbella. For the money, over $900 US dollars, very disappointed in the quality of the cars and lack of professional service. Gibraltar however was great and we enjoyed the scenery, people and history.

Huge disappointment of an expensive private guided tour (at least it was claimed to be) - Unfortunately none as we completely lacked the personal guide to give background information to the visited points. The driver put in a low quality tape while driving, so most of us did not understand a word. We were simply kicked out of the bus at the stops with nobody accompanied us or give us information. We booked an expensive private tour in order to get maximum input and individual answers to our questions and it was the opposite: completely useless from the information point of view. The historical part of The Great Siege Tunnels was skipped completely though it was the point we were most interested in. The cave was nice to see but with no information about it, a huge disappointment. The worst thing: There was no information and explanation that there was no guide for us. Some of us understand Spanish and heard the driver talking with another guy saying our guide left with another group before we arrived because we stuck in a traffic jam at the border and arrived later than planned. But we were not at all informed about it and did not get any update on changes of the booked program. This behaviour creates the impression of having been totally ripped off by hoping we would not understand what they were talking and therefore would not report Viator what happened. After our wedding we had invited our friends to this trip expecting a fun day with great insights into historical Gibraltar but the whole group was so disappointed and we felt so bad having booked it, not even talking about the waste of money as the private guided tour was really expensive. For everybody booking a tour we recommend to study carefully what you pay for and follow-up carefully what you really get.
