The excursion kick-starts with a hotel pick-up, followed by a scenic 1 hour and 20 minutes travel time to our first destination. Enjoy views of frost-covered peaks, lagoons, and fields of corn and potatoes during the trip.
Our initial stop is Moray, a historic agricultural site, noticeable for its circular Andean terraces etched into the earth’s depths in a bowl-like form, used for acclimatizing produce to variant climates.
Post Moray, our next stop is the “Salineras” or “Maras Salt Mines”, a town notorious for salt production dating back to pre-Inca era.
3,500 salt pans, strategically hollowed out near the mountain, intercept waterflow via man-made channels.
On our return to Cusco city, we will stop by the vibrant village of “Chinchero”, oft referred to as the birthplace of the rainbow. This location is renowned for retaining the ancient Andean textile tradition.
