Cusco - Paucartambo - Pillcopata
Parque Nacional del Manu - This day begins in Cusco, where we will take the minivan that will accompany us during the trip. The first stop will be in Paucartambo, a very friendly town where we will have our breakfast. We will also stop to see the chullpas of Ninamarca, pre-Inca constructions. After passing Acjanaco, the highest point, we will descend through the cloud forest. on the way we will stop for lunch and also to see El Gallito de las Rocas, the national bird of Perú. Finally we will arrive in Pillcopata to have dinner and spend the night in our hostel

The Manu National Park is a protected natural area. It is divided into the core zone, the reserved zone and the cultural zone. The latter is the one we visited in the four days. The Manu is one of the most biodiverse regions in the world and that is why it is one of the most appreciated regions. Here 223 species of mammals and 1005 of birds have been registered. It also holds the world record for diversity of amphibian (155) and reptile (132) species for a protected area.
