Great day out from Manizales - Angie was a joy and a great guide - informative and funny. The sights were incredible and a fantastic day out. Was a shame not to climb to the crater but rules are rules! Jhon was one of the safer drivers we’ve had in Colombia - felt secure on the mountain tracks Thank you both for a memorable experience

Lucky with clear sunny skies. - I was lucky to pick on of the clearest days. That sure made the experience so much better. Who wants to go to that altitude to look at clouds not me. The driver and guide were second to none. The meals were delicious. So lucky to have been able to get this done with clear skies. I would not have changed this experience for anything.

Great Day Tour, amazing sights and relaxing hot springs - This was a great tour. It seemed a little expensive when I booked, but I didn't realise it was a private tour just for me! So then it made good sense. Here's the breakdown: 1. I was picked up near my accommodation and then we drove straight to a cool restaurant with a great view of the Andes for the included breakfast 2. After some more very scenic driving we arrived at "Parque Nacional Natural Los Nevados" after which there was a brief explanation about the park and the nature. We then had a specialised guide join us, and made the very short drive up to... 3. The volcano Nevado del Ruiz and surrounding areas. The day was clear and it was pretty amazing. Kind of what you'd imagine being on the surface of the moon could be like - there is actually a part of the park called the lunar valleys ("Valles Lunares"). We took some cool photos here and learned more about the park and volcano... it was smoking the whole time. NOTE since 2010 you can't actually go up past a certain point, but you can still see everything from just below, and it's cool 4. We drove back to the same restaurant we had breakfast in for the included lunch 5. We drove to the hot springs. The actual location was "Termales el Otono." It is a nice kind or resort built around man made pools which channel the natural hot spring water. Apparently wealthy Colombians often stay here. When we arrived it was a Tuesday, and there was not a single other person there bar the staff, so that was cool. It also has beautiful views up to the surrounding jungly mountains - nice to take in while you're soaking up the mineral filled water Summary: A great tour, lots included, and amongst many other highlights, great for photos like you're on the moon Bring: - Sunscreen - Sunglasses - Bathing suits AND towels (otherwise the resort will charge around COP10,000 to use them) - COP 28,000 cash for the park fee (not included) Shoutouts: - Valentina - great English speaking tour guide. Thanks again! - Jessica - The very friendly and informative Park guide

Snowy Ruiz - The park was beautiful and the Hot Springs were great, however our guide spoke very little English which made it difficult. There was a 30 minute presentation at the Park entrance which we got nothing from because it was all in Spanish. Very difficult to ask any questions. She was very nice and sweet, but just didn't speak much English. We specifically signed up for an English guide. This trip was not cheap and we expected what we paid for. Other issue was it was a smaller vehicle and had 3 people squished in the back seat. Very uncomfortable.

Very expensive for what it is, terrible operators. Wouldn't recommend - The tour guide was fantastic. Her English wasnt perfect but she was very knowledgeable. Me and my friend were fans of her. But the operator is terrible. On the way down from the mountain. Our driver stopped for 15 minutes to make a call. As it turned out the company had double booked. So he would drop us to the hot springs and return to Manizales Then we spent an hour driving to the springs, to find out the springs had been closed, the tour company had never thought to inform our guide. They then tried to offer us back 50,000 pesos (10€) or the 2,000,000 pesos (200€) we paid, when half the tour had been cancelled. Then on the way back, since our driver had been double booked, we were left at the terminale instead of our hotel and told to get a taxi. For an expensive tour, the service we receieved was extremely poor. Instead of booking this tour, I'd recommend going to the hot springs by yourself, and finding an independent tour guide if you want to go to the volcano. For how much money it was, we expected a far better level of service. For how much money it was, we also wanted more spectacle. The only reason this isn't 1 star is because our guide was good.
