Hemis Monastery - After a restful night at your homestay or camp, enjoy a delicious homemade breakfast before setting off for the next destination. On the same day, you can visit the historic Hemis Monastery along the way. A road diversion from Karu, near Upshi (50 km before Leh), leads to the monastery, which closes at 5 PM. After passing through several villages, you will reach the majestic Indus River. A short ride along one of the finest mountain roads in the Himalayas will take you to the mystical land of lamas (monks). Upon arrival, check into a comfortable hotel in Leh for relaxation.
• Hemis Gompa (Monastery): - Drive approximately 45 km south of Leh. Hemis is the largest monastery in Ladakh, where monks receive religious training. It belongs to the Drukpa order and was established in the early 17th century.
Leh – Nubra Valley Tour via Khardung-la (5600m)
Khardung La - Rent some local bikes or a cab for this tour, as bikes with Himachal number plates are not permitted to visit Khardung-la (Nubra Valley & Pangong Lake). Khardung-la pass is recognized as the highest motorable pass in the world (5600m) by the Guinness Book of World Records. Revel in the natural beauty of the peaks, especially the Zanskar range to the south and the Karakoram range to the north. Upon reaching Hunder, enjoy the sand dunes of Nubra. Hunder – Pangong Lake (4400m) Approximately 170 km
Pangong Tso - Embark on an early morning ride or drive to Pangong Lake (4400m) via the Shyok River, reaching Durbuk. Durbuk village is home to a series of war memorials dedicated to soldiers who lost their lives during the Indo-China war in 1962. Some army bunkers and trenches remain in use. Villagers can be seen with their herds, such as Pashmina sheep and long-tailed yaks. Pangong is one of Asia’s most remarkable lakes, changing its color 4 to 5 times a day in various shades of blue, green, purple, and violet, with impressive transparency. A few boats, owned by the army, may be available, but they will not allow travel beyond half a kilometer, even though 25% of the 150 km lake belongs to India and the remaining 75% to China. The lake was historically divided between Ladakh and Tibet as early as 1684 under the Treaty of Tingmosgang, signed between the king of Ladakh, Deldan Namgyal, and the Regent of Tibet. Today, it is shared by India and China. Enjoy the sunset at the lake and stay overnight at Pangong Lake.

Changla Pass - Good morning! Enjoy the sunrise around 5:30 am. After breakfast, travel to Leh via Changla Pass (5425m). Upon reaching Leh, take short walks around the Leh Mall road for shopping and more.

Take short walks around Leh city, including a visit to Shanti Stupa (a pagoda-style Japanese temple, symbolizing peace). Enjoy some shopping in the evening. • Shey Palace: - A 15 km drive from Leh; it was the summer palace of the king of Ladakh. Numerous stupas and gompas are built around the palace. This palace was constructed by Deldan Namgyal in the early 17th century AD.
• Thiksey Gompa: - About 2 km from Shey Palace, this monastery is considered one of the most beautiful in the Ladakh region and belongs to the Gelukspa order.
• Spituk Gompa: - Located on a hilltop, 8 km from Leh, offering a spectacular view of the Indus Valley for miles. Many icons of Buddha and five thankas are found in this 15th-century monastery, along with a great collection of ancient masks, antiques, and arms.
• Phyang Gompa: - Resembling a palace from a distance, it is situated 17 km from Leh on the Leh-Kargil road and was built by Tashi Namgyal in the latter half of the 16th century AD. The Gompa belongs to the Red Cap sect of Buddhists. Hundreds of Buddha icons are kept on wooden shelves. During the festival, captivating mask dance performances can be seen.
• Leh Palace: - This nine-story palace plays a significant role in the history of Ladakh and was built by the ruler of Ladakh, Sengge Namgyal, in the 17th century. It is worth visiting this remarkable monument.
• Tour to Magnetic Hill: - Approximately 30 km from Leh (on the way to Kargil)
• Gurudwara Pathhar Sahib: - (On the way to Kargil) Enroute visit Shaam Valley, Alchi, Likir, Magnetic Hill, Confluence (Sangam), Gurudwara Pathhar Sahib (on the way).
