Highlights
- Hondoq Bay - This is our usual starting point for the Comino tour. Please note that it may change due to weather or other factors. Please read your messages before the tour and contact us if in doubt.
Here, we will set you up with the equipment and make sure you are comfortable in your kayak. You’ll meet your guide and do a safety briefing. Then we set you on your way!
- Gozo Channel - We generally start with a short paddle along the Gozo coastline to get comfortable in our kayaks before our journey takes us across the Gozo Channel Comino! The crossing usually takes about 20min and is approx. 800m at the narrowest point. This is where the adventure really gets started!
- Blue Lagoon - We try to see as much as we can of Comino based on the weather conditions and busyness on the water! But it won’t be possible to see everything every trip!
We do make every effort to stop in or nearby the beautiful Blue Lagoon for a break. In this time you can swim, explore the chrystal blue sea or just relax if you would like. If we cannot land in or nearby we will be sure to kayak into the first part of the Blue Lagoon so you can enjoy it from the water!
On our way we pass by and explore a number of gorgeous caves and bays. It’s awesome!
- Cominotto Reef - Cominotto is not easily accessible to regular tourists, but kayaks can make use of the perfect entrance through the secret tunnel through the island to the Blue Lagoon! An unforgettable experience in itself!
- Crystal Lagoon - When the weather allows we can kayak around the back of Cominotto and head to explore the stunning clear waters, hidden tunnels and awe-inspiring open-top caves in the Crystal lagoon. We can see where films like Troy (Brad Pitt), Swept Away (Madonna) and the Count of Monte Cristo were filmed!
- San Niklaw Bay - Hidden around the corner from San Niklaw Bay is our favourite swimming spot. It is a hidden gorge only easily accessible by water. We lovingly refer to it as Urchin’s Bay and it contains a wealth of marine life!

alfa Rock** -
alfa Rock, also known as Oath Rock or Qala Rock is a stunning stand alone island just off the coast of Gozo. Your guide will tell you all about the pirate lord and show the 700 year old hermit hut and St Anthony’s Battery!
- Santa Marija Bay - We also visit the Santa Marija Bay area. It is great for swimming and relaxing. If time allows, we sometimes take a short walk exploring some epic lookout points and can even crawl into the Smuggler’s Cave from the land entrance!
Please understand that all our tours are weather-dependent and not all areas may be accessible. Also, the Comino tours are not always possible due to winds or other factors. The tours are subject to a location change. If so, we will notify you before the tour, so always check your messages and contact us if you are in doubt.

Embark on a kayak excursion filled with exploration and enchantment to the stunning Comino - a journey comprising of extraordinary caves, crystal clear waters, magnificent bays, beaches and remarkable rock formations (subject to weather conditions)!
This expedition spreads across a full day (10:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.) from Gozo to Comino. We welcome both newbies and seasoned kayakers. More than half of the time is dedicated to kayaking while the rest is spent in relaxation, swimming, and terrestrial exploration! You’ll have a chance to visit the Blue Lagoon side and the Santa Maria side of Comino, both famed for their incredible caves, bays and rocky landscapes. Please bear in mind that all tours are contingent on weather and not all areas/routes might be reachable.
If necessary, the guide will familiarize you with the basics ensuring you feel at ease! Kindly inform us about your prior kayaking experiences when booking so that we can group you better.
Remember, this is an active escapade, so a moderate level of physical fitness and basic swimming skills are essential.
An appetizing homemade lunch is included in the package!

We do our best to accommodate people with disabilities or medical issues, but this activity may not be suitable for everyone, which is at our discretion. If in doubt, please contact us before booking. We may require the use of a double kayak due to medical or other issues. For safety reasons, we reserve the right to deny services or change the route/duration of the tour due to medical or relevant issues that are not reported to us before/at the time of booking, or that are reported to us in an inaccurate way.
- Pregnant women are permitted to join the tours if they are in their 27th week or less of pregnancy at the time of the tour.
- Minimum age is 8 years old (strict policy)
- Children under 13 are required to be in a double kayak with an adult (strict policy)
- All participants must be able to swim at a basic level and everyone is required to wear a life vest at all times in the kayak.
- Double kayaks will be provided to even numbered groups unless singles are specifically requested/approved at the time of booking.
- Each guide is only permitted to lead a limited number of kayaks for safety reasons and to increase the quality of the tour. For this reason, availability may be limited.
- Minimum group size of 2, solo travellers may join if an existing group has formed but may need to be flexible.
- Customer cancellations only permitted up to 24 hours in advance.
- A picnic lunch is provided, including a snack and fruit. Please let us know if you have any dietary restrictions..

Exceptionally Fun Day - Was an excellent 6 and a half hours of fun. Completely knackered by the end of it. Cris, our guide for the day, was lovely, very encouraging and fun to talk to. The lunch provided was also freshly made and completely excellent, far above what I'd normally expect from a booking like this. Showed us some excellent parts of Comino. All in all would highly recommend.

A wonderfully relaxing day on the sea - What a fabulous day out we just had! Our group consisted of first-time kayakers, those who’d kayaked once or twice before, and a few of us who have kayaked very many times. Although you really don’t need to have any experience in a kayak, you do need a certain level of fitness to spend all day paddling so don’t book this trip if you are very new to exercise!
Our guide, Roko, ensured that everyone knew how to handle a kayak and do basic manoeuvres and he was very really careful to make sure the less experienced in our group always felt comfortable and safe during the day.
We explored caves and little coves and even had a leisurely lunch (a home made delight of pasta salad and fresh fruit, all provided for us) at The Blue Lagoon. There was time for snorkelling during our lunch break and then, on the paddle back, we stopped off to get out of the kayaks and take a short hike to a cave where we could dive into a deep pool opening out into the sea.
Me and my husband have kayaked many times and found the pace very relaxing and so were able to really enjoy all the scenery around the coast. We covered about 9-10km in the day.
We can highly recommend this trip as an excellent way to see the amazing coastline of Gozo and Comino and experience the fun of sea kayaking.

Great way to explore - We had great trip out with Laurie (25/7/23) we were both kayak novices but had an amazing time and never once felt out of our depth or as if we were slowing anyone down, Laurie was an amazing guide and we saw and swam in some amazing places, lunch was delicious. The tour never felt rushed and we fitted so much in, got some amazing photos as a memento of our trip.
Highly recommend Kayak Gozo, an amazing way to explore and see the islands from a different perspective.

Unforgettable experience!!! - My Full Day Chillin Adventurw was as amazing as you can imagine. I have made my dream come true!!! I have planned the trip for a year and thanks to our lovely guide-Stu, it became a reality. Stu made our tour even more exciting by sharing his stories from other trips, giving us useful tips and telling us interesting facts from his life. He is an open and very entertaining professional. I felt truly taken care of and compeletely safe during our paddling. I have a bit of an experience in kayaking and I saw how well prepared Stu was. He provided us with a lot of stops for swimming, snorkelling and chilling as it was extremely hot on that day. I would also like to appreciate home-made food we got and freshly prepared snacks. All was perfect!!!! Kayak Gozo and Stu one more time many thanks for making my dream come true, I will remember it forever!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Best tour in Gozo - This is the best way to explore Gozo and Comino. We explored caves and lagoons and got to swim and chill all over. The food was delicious. Our guide was phenomenal. A must do!

Best kayaking experience! - We participated in a two-man kayak in July 2023 and both agreed this was one of the highlights of our holiday. Rocco was an experienced tour guide and made the trip extremely enjoyable. This trip takes you to places inaccessible to boats/swimmers so really maximised the trip. The lunch provided was delicious and we really appreciated catering for vegans. 10/10 would do this again!

A Truly Memorable Kayaking Adventure with Stu on Gozo! - I feel compelled to write about our extraordinary kayaking experience with Kayak Gozo, and specifically, our brilliant guide, Stu.
To say that Stu is knowledgeable would be a gross understatement. His passion and insight about Gozo, Comino, and Cominoto were incredible. We were not merely paddling in beautiful waters; we were traveling through time, guided by Stu's tales of local legends and history. His stories about the chocolate smuggling era of the 70s and 80s, which arose due to subpar local chocolate production, were particularly fascinating!
Stu's insights weren't limited to history either. His encyclopedic knowledge of movies and TV shows filmed around the islands made us feel as if we were on a Hollywood set. The tour was not just a visual feast but an information-packed extravaganza.
As for the kayaking itself, Stu's instructions were always clear, concise, and positively framed. Even as beginners, we felt incredibly safe and capable under his guidance. Stu's positivity was infectious, spreading through our group and making the whole experience incredibly uplifting. His approach went far beyond what we've experienced on similar activities over the years.
Stu's undeniable love for his work and his island shone through in every aspect of the tour, making this not just a kayaking trip, but a truly memorable adventure. If you're considering a trip to Gozo, a tour with Kayak Gozo, and especially Stu, should be at the very top of your list.
Kudos to Stu for setting a gold standard in outdoor guiding! We cannot wait to paddle again under his leadership. Five stars, without a doubt!

Ultimate experience and Lovely group of Instructors - At the beginning it was difficult to get the hang of kayaking techniques, but slowly we picked up, the instructors were very patient and understanding. I highly recommend this activity to everyone.

Safety top priority for Kayak Gozo - Sadly we were advised in good time that the trip had to be cancelled due to sea and wind conditions, but there was no hesitation in offering us a full refund. Hopefully we can book again next time we are on Gozo
