Highlights
  • Punta Ballena - Here begins the area of our walk, a high point of rocks that juts out into the sea and offers a spectacular view on both sides.
Here is the famous Hotel Casapueblo Museum, built by the artist Carlos Páez Vilaro.
I clarify that the duration of this point includes 120 minutes of travel to this place from the start.

  • Casapueblo - The entrance to the place is optional since many times the number of people means that you have to wait a long time and lose time for the rest of the tour.

  • Las Grutas - To the East of Punta Ballena, under the slope and cliffs, is the small beach and resort of Las Grutas.
A world apart isolated from the rest of the environment with hidden coves and caves.

  • Playa Mansa - Already entering our main destination, the first thing we have is Playa Mansa.
We will walk along its boulevard making stops to go down to the beach, walk along the wooden walkways, take photos or whatever you like.
We will also enter the residential neighborhoods that accompany the coast.

  • Puerto de Punta del Este - One of the most characteristic points of the place and most visited.
Luxurious yachts and sailboats are combined with artisanal fishermen who return from the sea and sell their fish.
Due to the latter, large sea lions always come to wait for the fishermen to throw them leftover fish, so they are on the pier a few meters away from people, like “posing for a photo”.

  • Avenida Gorlero - local mall

  • Punta del Este - At the end of the walk through La Mansa and its surroundings we will be entering the Peninsula, which is the origin of the spa.
We will visit its historical places such as the Lighthouse (you cannot enter) and the Church of La Candelaria, as well as its shopping center and famous Gorlero Avenue.

We will cross the entire Rambla de Circunvalación passing through the port on the west side, accompanied by the view of Isla Gorriti and on the east the beaches of Los Ingleses and El Emir.
Punta de la Salina, its end, separates the Río de la Plata from the Atlantic Ocean and is the southernmost point of the country.

  • Mano de Punta del Este - Before entering Playa Brava and its surroundings, the first stop will be at the famous sculpture of Los Dedos.

  • Playa Brava - Playa Brava begins to the East of the Peninsula, with other characteristics that differentiate it from La Mansa.
After visiting Los Dedos, just like we did at Playa Mansa, we will tour the entire boulevard and the adjacent neighborhoods such as San Rafael, Rincón del Indio, or Bevery Hills, making as many stops as you like.

  • La Barra - Thus we will arrive at the mouth of Arroyo Maldonado where on the other side of it is the La Barra spa.
We will cross it through the famous undulating bridge and visit the commercial center, the small beaches and its narrow streets.

  • Manantiales - After La Barra, there are a series of famous beaches very frequented by the “movida” in summer such as Bikini, Montoya and Manantiales.

  • Jose Ignacio - After Manantiales it is 20km along the coast to reach José Ignacio.
I cannot assure you that there will be time to visit it as well, but that will depend on the times with which we have moved and your particular interests.

Additional Information

Undeniably, it’s the most prominent spa in Uruguay, and one of the most prestigious and recognized throughout Latin America. The natural allure of its landscape melds harmoniously with a distinct urbanization unseen elsewhere in the country.

Punta del Este is a beach resort situated 130km away from Montevideo. This slender peninsula extends out into the ocean, marking the official boundary between the Río de la Plata and the Atlantic Ocean.

During this private tour, we’ll traverse its key and iconic landmarks, as well as some lesser-known locations typically visited by the locals only.

Covering a stretch of 32km coastlines between Punta Ballena and Manantiales, this destination has much to offer.

This is your customized tour, your convenience and preferences take precedence. I’m here as your guide to recommend and take you to the finest spots, yet you will determine the pace and preference of your experience. If you wish to pause, we take a break, if you wish to progress, we move ahead.

Best way to see Montevideo and Punta del Este! - Abrazo with VerdeAzul Movilidad Privada was a terrific host. He shared the history, geography and current Affairs in a friendly and professional manner. He even stopped by a local bakery and purchased local pastries that are not typically available to tourists. We had a tight travel (ferry connection) and he made sure we were dropped off in time at the right spot for check-in.

No thrills, great time! - We had a wonderful day tour with Marcos, who shared his knowledge about Uruguay,Montevideo and Punta del Este during this trip. He took us pretty much to all must see places plus some extra for lunch,shopping..etc. All done very smoothly, without being rushed. Add to that a friendly personality with a sense of humor and you'll probably choose this private tour when you're in Montevideo. Highly recommend!
