It is a camel ride - Taxi drops you off at train station, cross the train station. 6 camels and 1 hour and cart there. Can ride in a camel or in cart. Ride dor about 40mins. Men helpful. They take photos on your phone. It's not a traditional village, it's a built Court yard for this trip. Lady makes traditional food. Was nice. No souvenir shops, no food markets to try food. Let be fair your only doing this for a photo on a camel so was worth while lol 😆

A must do when visiting Mahdia, Tunisia! - It was my first time visiting a traditional village in a foreign country, and it was the cultural experience that I was expecting for the given area that I visited, plus more. The guide was helpful and considerate with all aspects of the excursion, given that I was a lone traveller who had never rode a camel before! The views were stunning being sat from the camel, and I would expect them to look more beautiful in the foreseeable future in Mahdia. The village was bright, colourful, traditional and clean, and all efforts were made in communication from the village residents. I would definitely recommend this excursion for anyone who is looking for a local adventure in Tunisia!

Not as described - As much as we enjoyed our trip, unfortunately we dud not experience the trip that was described. Firsty we were picked up by taxi and driven to a train station, we crissed the rails to gind 6 camels, a horse and cart. After sone rushed photos we were lifted onto the 🐫. My wie choose to ride on the cart. The ride was for about 20 minutes across dried up fields on a dusty path. We reached the traditional village (cough cough) to be greated by a man who handed us fizzy drinks. We sat in silence for 15 minutes until the man asked us to follow him to see a lady make bread. She was cooking it in a clay oven whilst on her mobile phone. We were served the bread and olive oil sone olives which were quite nice. We wrre served mint tea which tasted like a hot polo. Not my taste but just my opinion. Folliwing that our photos were given to us to purchase. We paid for them and we were then ushered out back to the camels. We were given the impression that this was a trip eith horse's and camels, we would see a traditional village with traditional people. Shops to by souvenirs were mentioned but nothing there! Very modern built buildings and people. Not as described. But enjoyable nevertheless less.
