Costa Maya beach - If you are looking for simple, easy and relaxed this is it. Not fancy by any means but you have beach front seating, drinks, food and I did a 30 minute massage beside the beach and it was wonderful. The staff was friendly and thorough. We would go back if we ever went to Costa Maya again. I would only suggest they move their taxis closer to the port. If you are not fond of walking a few miles take a taxi straight out of the port exit.

Nice beach break - The servers were very attentive. The fish ceviche was delicious and so was the chicken fajita burrito. The beach was very nice. The water was clear and calm!

Peaceful and Serene Beach - Carla made sure we made it safely to the destination. When we arrived we were greeted by Jackie and Alex. They took great care of us during our time there. They have the best fish tacos in Mexico! It’s small and quiet so you can just relax and enjoy the beach.

Friendly and helpful staff and owners - Lovely day in Costa Maya. We booked on TripAdvisor. While there was an issue with some of the paddle-boards, it was more than compensated for by the friendly helpful hosts. We enjoyed some fine food and drink served at beach-side along with a sun-drenched massage by a local therapist right there on the beach. ($40 for an hour.) I sure enjoyed the experience. 5 of us traveled by taxi from The Symphony of the Seas. Very easy process. Walk out of the main area, to the taxi rank, and hold up the number of fingers representing your passenger requirements. For 5 it cost $20 including generous tip. (Each way.) If there is any criticism; it is that we may have been slightly over-served with some fine tequila. Gracias Carlos. "One more Don Julio?'. Carlos was his name. Tequila was his game. For nice food and drink with sea and sun, this is a good recommend for a 4 - 6 hour getaway from a cruise ship. Andrew Brel. November 2019.

Not fun but funny - 10/10 but would not recommend a little harsh. They bullied me because I'm fat and couldn't stand on the board.

Review - Costa Maya is a newer Mexico port. Having said that, note it is Mexico, and it's newer. To us cleanliness was not a priority at this event. We arrived late to port and missed bus. It took us a while in rain to find out we needed to take a taxi. Not bad at 4$ pp. Taxi driver dropped us off at wrong place and we spoke to a couple of people before we found out it was about 2 blocks away. Once we found right place it was awesome! The introduced themselves, gave us large shots of tequila and we spoke to other patrons. I went to bathroom which was shared. That part was fine with me but, there were no seats on toilet, and they rinsed (with tap water) the shot glasses in bathroom sink no soap no disinfectant. I received a massage which was amazing after 3 shots of tequila and well worth the 30$. Pro's The host of trip were friendly, the tequila was good, food was awesome. Con's not sanitary, getting there not clear, not worth 100$ pp.

Huge embarrassing waste of time and money - Huge waste of money. The whole beach line is full of “beach clubs” many of which let you sit for free. Just next door was already somewhat of an improvement. You can pay $4 to a taxi to take you to this beach, so the reservation is basically for one meal and unlimited alcohol (we don’t even drink). This place offered snorkeling gear but no transportation out of their tiny fenced in 2ft deep water. The sand looked diseased and this was the most disgusting beach we’ve been to (we aren’t picky; just a couple of college kids). Lots of bugs in the sand and a vendor comes by to harass you every 5 min or less. That being said the service was great (the people were nice and attentive) but we were too sick about wasting our money to order any of the included food. We left after about 30 min.

Dirty area of town and... - Dirty area of town and people harassing you. It felt unsafe. I would not recommend it this, stay at the pool by the port.
