Our guide for the Tour... - Our guide for the Tour (Hernan) was terrific. He was a History Professor with such great insight on the background of what we were experiencing. He knew why and what motivated Picasso to create Guernica and was able to present it with passion and meaning. It's sad and tragic but we loved it. Better than I expected.

The Real Guernica Story - Deeply informative tour, intriguing throughout the entire experience. Very detailed overview of Guernica and its incredible backstory. Amazing to learn how art can be manipulated as propaganda, which was certainly the case here. Great tour and highly recommended.

Private tour is the way to go! - I very highly recommend doing a private museum tour. It is small investment in a very valuable experience. Hernan was our guide and he was so extremely knowledgeable, kind, and clearly an expert on the complicated subject matter that is Reina Sophia museum and the Guernica masterpiece. He gave us insight into the most important works in the museum that we would have never known without his years of knowledge. He was so friendly and we really enjoyed our time. I highly recommend any small group or family to take advantage of a private tour. He kept my teenage daughter engaged and the pace was perfect. Muchas gracias Hernan!

Guernica and more with a very pleasant and knowledgeable guide - Well organized and efficiently clear your by Irina was perfectly balanced highlighting the most interesting works. The museum itself is not the most beautiful building but the Guernica is a must see if you are in Madrid and why not learn about it more fully with a well-informed and entertaining guide. The Dali are a bonus as are the other Picasso works and those by Gris and more !

Exceptionally rich and high-value tour of Reina Sofia in Madrid - My mother and I were visiting Spain over a two-week period in May/June, including six days in Madrid. We were keen to include the Reina Sofia Museum in our itinerary, having read about its famous collection of Spanish expressionists and the Spanish artists who were in the vanguard of cubism and surrealism. And of course, we were excited to experience Guernica. We had limited time and basic knowledge, and therefore needed a strategy to be able to see select key pieces and to learn a lot. Our two-hour private tour with Hernan Satt of Private Madrid Museum tours was the perfect solution and exceeded our expectations. Mr. Satt began with an overview of the museum that was very grounding, and proceeded to guide us through a well-organized and thoughtful selection of pieces in the museum (including a dramatic Richard Serra sculpture, Guernica/Bengasi). We spent most of the time on Picasso's Guernica, including rich context of Spanish Civil War surrounding history and highlights of Picasso's personal life and characteristics/symbols within his works. We also spent time learning about a representative painting of one of Dali's early works - Girl at a window. Mr. Satt is a top-flight guide and expert. We had what can best be described as elementary knowledge, and he provided accessible substance, humor, and also a lot of interaction when guiding us throughout. He asked us thought-provoking questions to unlock our thinking, instead of having us passively listen to him for two hours. (It is evident that he is/has been a university professor, and it was a pleasure to be his "students" for a few hours!) For two hours of private guiding, it was a very high-value experience. I can only imagine that the company's other offerings are as high-quality and when I return to Madrid will certainly try at least one other offering (e.g., Prado tour or a Madrid city walking tour). In short, this is a must-do for anyone who wants to see the Reina Sofia Museum. We could NEVER have done this on our own and gotten even half as much out of the visit. In the final days of our two-week trip, we were ranking our favorite experiences (and there were many!!) and this was in the top three for each of us. I will recommend the company and Mr. Satt to everyone in my professional and personal networks without hesitation.

Private Reina Sophia Museum Tour - Thank you Irina for a wonderful morning discovering the wonders of modern art at the Reina Sophia in Madrid. Your warm personality & depth of knowledge about Spanish art & history really diminished the confusion my husband & I have had when viewing modern art previously. We can look at Picasso, Dali & Gris (among many others) and appreciate the artists, their lives and the historical events occurring at the time which influenced the art itself. I cannot recommend this opportunity more. For anyone interested in these private tours, be aware that tickets are not included. I thought the tour would be over because of our lack of tickets. Thankfully, Irina obtained 2 tickets for us(our cost). Don’t risk ticket sell out. Secure your entry at the time you book this tour.

Wonderful 2 day tour in Madrid - We spent two wonderful days with Hernan touring Prado, Reina Sofia, Thyssen and the city. He gave us a lot of insight and kept my teen age girls engaged and interested in the art and history of Spain. He also made very good recommendations for lunch stops and we had fideua in squid ink one day. Highly recommended for family visits to Madrid.

Nothing could have been better! - We were fortunate to have enjoyed two days with Sr. Satt in Madrid and Toledo. When we travel, usually only 2-3 of us, we try to find knowledgeable, professional guides before going, book visits that we think we will enjoy, and try to keep an open mind not knowing more about the person than a few email communications. From the beginning of our contact with Sr. Satt's team, it was professional, helpful, and thank goodness - in English, since we do not speak any Spanish. Our email correspondence, with suggestions from Sr. Satt's team, scheduled a walking tour and visit to the Reina Sofia for the Picasso exhibit, and the next day the Prado and Toledo. I went to the Reina Sofia and Prado sites and selected works that we would be interested in and also requested Jewish history in Madrid and Toledo. At our first introduction, we learned that we had hit the jackpot with Sr. Satt. In our walks and visits, Sr. Satt had an easy style and grace, with a historian and student of art's knowledge, while he explained, provided information, background, politics and social information, then he encouraged us to make our own opinions and share our ideas with him. While at the same time directing us through the streets and great halls to the next masterpiece of art or architecture. Not to mention, he had wonderful restaurant recommendations to enjoy local seafood, a Basque restaurant, and of course Madrillano cuisine. When anyone I know is planning a trip, I will insist that they set up a visit with Sr. Satt. I look forward to returning to Madrid and enjoying Sr. Satt's company again.

Wonderful museum tour - Went on the Reina Sofia Museum Tour #1, The Collection with Hernan Satt. He is a superb guide and made the tour fascinating with his in-depth knowledge. Learned so much more by taking a private tour. Saw the group tours and noticed that the guides were just taking the visitors to the rooms with very little explanation. When i return to Madrid i will certainly do more tours Hernan.
