Highlights
  • Gay Madrid & the Chueca District - We visit four of Chueca’s best neighborhood bars to taste a variety of tapas & soak up its fascinating atmosphere.
Each bar is unique so get ready to see a variety from the oldest in the district (105 years) to my secret modern bar that is so hidden that I know you have never been there before!

Arrive hungry, we will have at least 8 Tapas, including many classics like: Spanish Omelet, Croquettes, Patatas Bravas, cheese, vegetarian options, & also some surprises that I promise that you never tried before. We are also going to do some drink and Tapa pairings.

Whilst bar hopping, we’ll tell you tales from Chueca’s history, the origins of its LGBTQ past and present and let you into some of its hidden secrets! We even visit the first gay bar in Madrid.
Do this early on your trip to Madrid becuase I will share many tips on how to work a Tapas bar, to get better value for money, some do’s and don’t’s, and how to identify good Tapas bars, how to order, and finally the best bit… how to eat

  • Plaza de Chueca - Visit the oldest vermouth bar and discover why the Plaza and the area is called Chueca.
  • Calle de Hortaleza - We will visit the outside of the first ever gay bar to open in Madrid and see the first political LGBTQ book strore.
  • Calle de Fuencarral - Visit the best Tapas bar in between Chueca and Malasaña - famous for home made hand made croquettes.

Charming way to get to know more of Madrid! - This was such a fun way to explore Madrid. Not only was our guide kind and handsome but he was also very knowledgeable about the Chueca district, Spanish history, Spanish customs, and hidden food gem's! He took us to the best place to find a Spanish tortilla all while charmingly laying down some facts about the neighborhood and how it came to be. If you are someone who enjoys learning about culture and good food and drinks this trip is for you!

An Absolute Must! - Paul is AMAZING! My boyfriend and I went on a noon tour with only one other couple, and it was fantastic. We had delicious tapas and Paul shared some of the history of Spain and Chueca. He is extremely knowledgeable about the bars, the traditions, and the LGBTQ history of the area. This tour is an absolute MUST for any first-time or return trip to Madrid.

Lovely tour! - We had a great time with Ian on our tour! Prompt, responsive, friendly, funny and full of deep knowledge of Madrid's LBTQ history, he not only enlightened us on past and current culture, he gave us a great tapas and drinks lesson at 3 different bars in the gay district and pointed out great landmarks. It was just perfect for our first night Madrid and intro to Spain, and we left with more than a few great beverage discoveries! Thanks Ian and Paul!

Vermouth! Who knew? So good. - We had a spectacular afternoon with Ian and Juan. The tour provided the perfect blend of historical and cultural insights with great food and drink. We loved learning about the neighborhood and the hidden gems that you wouldn't discover on your own. Highlights were the vermouth, the red sauce that was served with the tortilla, and the cider pouring. Ian and Juan were great fun and very knowledgeable. We regret that we didn’t have time for the village tour also offered by the company.
