- C. de Carlos Arniches, 9, 54 - Participants will be introduced to the tools used in Leathercraft, many of which have remained unchanged since medieval times. This experience is perfect for those eager to explore an authentic Spanish Leathercraft Workshop and learn to craft their own leather items. Each participant will have the chance to work with genuine Spanish Cowhide to create a leather item by hand. In the workshop, participants can choose to make a stylish travel purse (with or without a strap), a unique belt, a wallet, two different purses, or braided bracelets. There is also the option to design a different piece on the spot, perhaps something they’ve always wanted to create, like a handbag, a mobile phone case, or a belt pouch. If this is the case, the instructor should be informed in advance. Participants will also be introduced to the various types of leather available. Each piece will be one-of-a-kind, as techniques such as stamping or embossing will be used for decoration. For those who do not speak Spanish, the instructor speaks perfect English, being originally from Ireland. The workshop will have a small group, allowing everyone to get to know each other without rushing.

Don’t worry about difficulty - the instructor will guide you every step of the way. The joy of fashioning a functional, durable, and appealing handmade item is second to none! A notable highlight of this gathering is its location - the heart of Madrid’s oldest neighborhood, La Latina, near the Cebada Square. This is an area known for El Rastro - the largest street market held every Sunday, a treasure trove of Antiques and Handmade goods, accompanied by a vast array of eateries, bars, and coffee shops. One of the prominent streets is Ribera de Curtidores or the Tannery Street, famous for its numerous Leather shops.
