Great guide and explanation of the Prado - The guide took us to some of the most famous works in the Prado, and did a wonderful job of explaining the history and importance of each piece. She demonstrated how some of them changed as you moved around or away from the piece of art. Well worth it!

Visit to the Prado Museum - Excellent! Our guide Angel demonstrated his knowledge and made the visit very enjoyable and fun. He took the time to explain to those of us who are not very knowledgeable about art. We enjoyed the tour and we also got educated.

Prado visit from Ireland - My son and I joined a group for a guided tour of the Prado. Andrea was simply wonderful. She was friendly and fun, but above all she really knew her subject and was attentive to all our questions. Our knowledge of the paintings has been greatly enhanced thanks to Andrea. This visit is essential if you're in Madrid.

Time spent and fun presentation - We took a selective tour, according to the time available and the size of the museum. The guide Ángel handled himself competently in terms of his knowledge about art and also in communicating with an audience that was not specialists.

Rather disappointing - Not quite what we were expecting. Stood in line for 30 minutes to get in, and real tour only lasted 75 minutes. We thought it was going to be 2 hours inside museum. Very misleading information. Too many people on this tour.

Sharing Knowledge Hindered by Microphone!! - First: I prepaid for 3 headphones. On site, headphones were given to every participate whether or not they had prepaid!! I deserve and expect a refund of the fees paid. While the guide was well informed and presented a delightfully rich analysis of the paintings, her soft voice could not project! It was VERY hard to hear her. My family of 5, from 3 generations, had to strain to do that. Time delay before tour made worse by having to wait while ear phones had to be individually UNRAVELLED from a ensnarled bundle!! (Preparation would have saved time.) Half of group had only intermittent sound reception for the first 20 minutes of actual tour. Finally, one member suggested that the guide attach her radio to her neck strap. Right away the sound was better IF we all got uncomfortably close to guide. Many people left midtour because of sound/hearing difficulties. (Guide would excel with a group of 5.). Great behind a podium with microphone. Our tour the following day at the Madrid Royal Palace was in sharp contrast! Happily, the guide there had a strong voice, circulated among the people and her microphone worked consistently well.

We loved the guide's descriptions and stories, as well as his good choice of works. - The visit itself is quite good. However, there were some drawbacks. While we didn't queue for tickets, we had a half hour or more queue for access. In addition, they changed the start time 24 hours in advance, which can be an inconvenience when combining it with other activities. These things would have to be negotiated with the museum so that they do not happen.

Passable but not pleasant - We did not have a good experience with our guide. The program said we would have headsets but we did not, and it was difficult to hear him. He faced the artwork instead of us, so we had to jockey for space alongside him or turn our backs to the artwork. He was knowledgeable about the pieces he discussed, and that made it passable. He made no attempt to introduce himself or provide any personal connection other than asking where we were from. Disappointing.
