Highlights

If you accept this activity, you will visit a remarkable winery in Don Quixote´s land, one of the most popular books in the history of literature thanks to the brilliant work from Miguel de Cervantes (a successful Spanish writer from the 17th century)

La Mancha is the the largest surface of vineyard in the world and is also considered as one of the best areas in Spain in order to grow high-quality grapes. Nowadays, some of the best Spanish companies  are now opening new wineries in such area and those initiatives are generating a lot of wealth and employment there.

According to the experts, the local producers have been improving its wineries by introducing the latest technological developments within the region they operate, as well as maintaining the oldest ones in order to satisfy the consumers´ needs. La Mancha can be considered as one of the most picturesque areas of Spain for that reason without forgeting other tourist attractions like the medieval town of Toledo, for example. There are also other historic medieval towns and villages we should consider such as Consuegra, Campo de Criptana and La Mota del Cuervo, all of them with amazing windmills, hiking trails and birdwatching facilities. And we will try to do it with a glass of wine in hand. We consider that things will be better with a glass of wine in hand.

We will also have lunch at some well-known restaurants where people can taste some typical dishes of this specific area. If you are interested in the Spanish way of life, you should definitely try its national food. If you want to carry out the same activities like the ones from the local people, you should eat the same recipes and visit some some interesting places there.

Highly Recommended! - Fabulous tour with Ignacio Segovia. Way exceeded expectations. Ignacio gave us a history of Spain on the way to the winery & cave, El Toloso & the windmills. I was expecting a cheesy Don Quixote tour and this was very professional and not cheesy at all. I definitely would recommend it.

Top! - I can only recommend. Our guide was passionate about it. This is the only way to get to know La Mancha ideally. A great tour despite the bad weather!

Highly recommend this trip for new and seasoned travelers! - We had an excellent time on the Windmills of Don Quixote Wine Tour from Madrid. Ignacio worked with us to arrange a private tour for just us two (in Spanish), collected us from the hotel and shared a wealth of information throughout. While we have visited Madrid several times in the past, seeing the famous windmills has always been on our list. We also enjoyed the local winery and wine tasting, as well as a visit to a safron supplier. This day trip was one of the highlights of our visit. Highly recommend.

History and wine: great combo - This was not our first time in Madrid but this was one of the best experiences we had here. The guide was very knowledgeable and professional. We will book with winebus again on our next trip

Not the average Wine Tour-Don Quixote, Windmills, Castle and More! - My wife and I were in Madrid during the beginning of December and choose this Wine Tour because it sounded different than the run-of-the-mill Winery Tours. The tour guide & owner of Winebus (Ignacio) is excellent and very passionate. We specifically visited the winery of Bodegas Jesus Diaz e Hijos, the town of El Toboso (and the Cervantes Museum), and the Windmills and Castle of Consuegra. The Castle itself was well worth the cost of this tour. Lunch at a local restaurant was also excellent. The only caveat that I would mention is that this is a very full day tour. So be prepared for a fair amount of driving time between the various stops. But again, well worth the time spent.

Great Experience! - We had a GREAT time on this tour with Ignacio. It could not get any more private that this, we were total of 5 people. Ignacio was very professional, knowledgeable, and very enthusiastic. The tour started on time and never felt that we were in hurry during the tour considering all the places Ignacio took us, including lunch at a local restaurant in Consuegra where the food was fantastic. The local bodega we visited in El Toboso, Campos de Dulcinea was phenomenal, great wine. At the end of the tour, to "cap-it-all", we drank wine at Los Molinos de Viento en Consuegra. After the tour he was very kind on dropping-off us close to the hotel which we were not expecting since the end point was the same as the meet point. Highly recommended.

Windmills of La Mancha and Don Quixote - Very interesting and informative tour about Don Quixote and the infamous windmills of La Mancha. The windmills are incredible and the views from the castle are spectacular. The food and wine were excellent as well. Thank you so much, Ignacio, for a wonderful trip.

The windmills of Don Quixote and a wine tour - What a fantastic experience!! My wife and I had a lovely time on this tour in September 2023. Ignacio was our tour guide and we lucked out as the only group for the day and had a private trip to the winery and La Mancha windmills. The tour guide gave us a personalized tour with a history of Spain, a history of wine making and back ground on Don Quixote and La Mancha. The winery tour was informative topped off with some wine tasting followed by a tour of the wind mills inside and outside. A quick stop at the Cervantes museum, a local church. A delightful lunch at a local restaurant with tasty dishes and then a breathtaking tour of a Castle where we lucked out again witnessing the annual medieval fencing competition. Ignacio went out of his way to explain, and plan the tour. He even made suggestions about dinner places in Madrid and dropped us off at one such restaurant. The landscape on the tour is stunning with plenty of photo ops but what made the day special was Ignacio and his efforts to add local flavor to a gorgeous itinerary. I would recommend this for anyone interested in wine tours or an interest in Cervantes and Don Quixote or just looking to learn about Spain with a memorable journey through its geography and history!! Three Thumbs UP!!
